Solid entertainment.
There's a few issues (mostly balance related) that bugged me though. Mind you that this is still a 5 star rating despite all of these:

- The fact that "fatigue" is the only stat that works in reverse threw me for a loop and I spent a good deal of time figuring out why I could never keep my crew satisfied as a result.

- If you aren't attacking frequently you end up being raided every single day, which is not only obnoxious but also completely redundant as it merely ends up superboosting Arielle (who can 2 shot every raid with full blasts). I ended up having her at something ridiculous like 4000 hp (I never lost more than 100 by just standing still) because I was farming for research and etc. These raids were just kind of a hassle as the difficulty didn't increase much if any at all, but the character you had would simply approach immortality really really fast. after a mere 2 raids of dodging a little and etc, a raid defense on Arielle is basically just staring at the charge bar to fill up, click at a random enemy then doing the same thing once more... raid defended... yay. Ultimately this also skewered the balance of offense raids as it meant that they became ridiculously easy, as you could literally jump into a laser beam, go brew a cup of coffee, then come back and only have lost half your life.

- Sealing the deal in space battles can be a hassle on some characters. It wasn't uncommon on Arielle and Phia to overpower the opponent in seconds, only to spend a good minute trying to keep all of the nodes. The "spread shot" thing should have a cooldown long enough to give a gap in which this wasn't the case, it seemed like the only way to get around this was to have TT support and shield.

- It was generally a little annoying that playing your support in battle would disable her in future battles. It meant that I couldn't do a full attack rotation which would have been more fun.

- Bri is branded as the "weak in combat" character, but ironically she gets so absurdly overpowered in lategame that I beat the final boss without demolishing any of the other ships in less than a single minute. She can actually shut down the enemy almost completely.

- Mercenaries appear a little useless. My merc count was at 300 or something when all of my characters had far more than 1000 charisma. They simply don't match up and having them be an alternative to character stats seems weird to begin with. They should have a separate purpose.

- The "upgrade ship" thing is completely unintelligible. I have no idea what neither "Ship" nor "Space" actually does for a character and it doesn't appear to be explained in the walkthrough either. I upgraded it about 10 times and then just quit it because I had no idea what it did anyway.

- The resource gathering missions are awfully painful due to the super vague overlap in the background and the actual collision walls. This is particularly bad in the cave where I'd sometimes hover next to a wall for a few seconds only to ram into it to check if it was a passable area or not. Kind of silly. At least these missions became obsolete later on when raiding actually started generating rewards (Read: poor raid scaling on the first map, ultimately results in it being a viable strategy to upgrade raid bonus and then spam it anyway so it doesn't function as a farming disabler either).

- Resource missions (APPARENTLY!) count as a day but leaves you on the same screen. It's natural instinct to assume that you can just sweep up all of them in succession and then go about the rest of the game, but this results in you getting "secretly" raided in the background, meaning that you return to a completely empty resource stock with the "Oh, we got raided" message appearing AFTER you've cleared out all of the resource missions (which is a tedious task to begin with). Frustrating.

- Does the "Hollo" tab do anything at all?

- Arielle's "charged" blast in defensive raid has no sound effect, which makes no sense as you could have easily reused one of the many laser sounds in the game. Generally these battles lacked sound effects.

I realize that this is a long ass list if "issues" for a 5 star rating, but you have to remember that I've spent HOURS playing this game, that alone is why it deserves the top of the scale for Newgrounds standards. This was really well done.

PS. I liked that each girl had an extra scene in the line-up, but generally speaking it would be nice if there was more hentai content to unlock, as that aspect of the game was really platonic.

Vortex00 responds:

Thanks. I see that a number of issues you present there are because decided to camp the first area. The game is not tailored for people who want to camp, I'm not going to spend time trying to force players to play the game a certain way. You ruin your own experience of the game for yourself by doing that. at best I can just put a game over scenario if you camp obnoxiously long.

what new features and stats do are explained in the linked patch notes.

Your comments about Bri is working as intended.
Your comments about holding nodes with certain characters is also working as intended.
