Reviews for "I was on the Throne"

Next time you make a game like this, make sure you give a warning of flashing colors. you wouldn't want to be held responsible for triggering somebody's epilepsy. Other than that this is a very good game

Beautiful-looking game and well-designed to boot. Very, very stylish.

I enjoyed the fact that my hand was not held and I had to inuit the solutions of puzzles with no clues or intrusive mini-tutorials. Navigation was similarly intuitive.

You clearly knew what you were after and didn't bog down the experience with a crappy story or dialogue no one could care about. I mean, there IS a linear story here but largely it doesn't matter. And I like that. I don't need another point and click game that tries to be artsy and deep and fails in execution.

My only complaint is that it didn't feel very... fun. Not that it wasn't. Just for some reason, it didn't click? Some puzzle-based games give you this gratifying feeling of aha! Others don't.

Not to say there aren't great games that fail in that regard. Ghost Trick was great but you didn't get that sense of triumph from completing the (clever) puzzles.

Anyway. This was a very well-thought out experience and I'm glad I soldiered through my nausea to finish it. Well done.

There was an old browser game called Mysteries of Time and space that was set up a lot like this. Each room had a puzzle, some easy, some absurdly difficult, and you had to solve them to move on. I love the concept and the mystery behind it, and this game is really reminiscent of it.

great game, good combination of different sounds and animation and just damn right craziness

Ps i came here from nerdcubed, who else did???
