Reviews for "Idle Evolution"

very good game !

Addictive game with intelligent design. One problem I had was that the extractors were bouncing off each other.... without touching.... I'm pretty sure this is intentional, but if there were a visible area where the extractors would begin bouncing off of each other as opposed to just randomly placing/moving them around until it's kind of figured out for a particular configuration.
As well, based on the amount of space in each square, and how that scales with the size of the extractors and how far off they can be placed while still extracting from an element, nine should be able to fit, but five to six is an absolute pain in order to get, especially with the aforementioned bouncing. .-.

NewProject responds:

I hope I have not caused any trauma :P
In a easy game like this, is good to have some challenges.

For your information: elements square have 40px and extractors 20px
You're very good deducting...

As entertaining as this game is, I'm really struggling with the 950 u atomic mass quest. I know that it's some sort of molecule because no natural isotope exists with that kind of mass. Could someone please help me with this one?

NewProject responds:

Is the sum of all elements where you have 1+ extractor.
Remember in this game you only learn the basic chemistry (what are the elements with higher mass?), don't search for complex molecules.

I thought this was an amazing incremental game! I've enjoyed playing it and had fun collecting all of the exams/achievements keep this up and keep on updating!

awesome concept! the general gameplay elements juxtapose decently well with each other. here are some suggestions:

- put up some basic info on why the 'zones' are grouped together in this way -- nothing too long, 1-2 sentences per zone.
- put up some basic info on what the molecules do and how they are relevant in evolution
- info on how to unlock new molecules
- shortcut keys for capacity/amount overlays (toggles would be great)
- additional backstory on "extractors": why/how they are extracting these specific atoms. aliens? terraformers? RNG? FSM?
- achievements which give additional info on the elements or other atom "trivia", i.e. basic one-liners on "electronegativity" or "valence shells"

i believe this game is a terrific template for other educators to conceptualise games for learning. imagine the gullible kids lulled into becoming A+ physics/chemistry students!

this game deserves some media coverage and attention from researchers in pedagogical studies and educational psychology.

NewProject responds:

-Gameplay > education. Too much text = boring.
-Let people learn gameplay by themselves. I don't say how to get all, it's better let people discover it.
-History: continue playing :)
-Achievements: I designed someone thinking people make guides, is good to players work together to find it. Look reddit.
