Reviews for "A Koopa's Revenge 2"

A good game, but a hard son of a bitch.

Lambtaco responds:

I like my games how I like my women. Wait, no.

what's up with such a small screen. It makes no sense in this day and age, but the game itself was pretty good.

Lambtaco responds:

Basically, I started development a long time ago, and the whole game was built around that aspect ratio and size. You can always zoom n with your browser, but things tend to get a bit wonky looking. Thanks for reviewing.

I'm not sure what's up with all of the hating and whining about this game, I actually think that it's pretty solid.
It's obviously a work of love for the series, and I'm fairly impressed with how much you put into it.
Well done.
I think I've played the first one a long time ago, so it's cool to see a sequel here.
Keep up the great work man!

Lambtaco responds:

Thanks, glad some people can enjoy it.. Haters gonna hate, I guess.

First of all, I really hate the inertia that the koopa has. I jump onto a pipe and he simply walk on, and falls off. Can't he just land and stop walking? Furthermore starting the actual game takes way too long. To play the game I first HAVE to see the controls, which I don't want, they were in the intro screen and I know them already. Next I need to see your drawings every single time. Then finally I get to the island and I can play the game. The idea is original, enjoy your star, but stolen anyway, and there are too many of these already.

Lambtaco responds:

I added a button to skip the story. That was a oversight on my part. I just start new files so infrequently I forgot.
Not wanting to see the controls seems like a odd comment. It's giving you the option to change the controls. It's only one screen you can easily blow past.
I based the momentum off of Super Mario Bros. 3. SMW and the original SMB play similarly. Perhaps it was lag induced. There's an issue with Flash games where controls tend to stick when there's lag.
What exactly is stolen?
I find your review overly critical.

Holy hell am I the only who actually remembers the first game? I'm surprised the sequel actually got made after what 10 years? Seems like an improvement too I remember the first being a bit clunky but this I see has a lot of good stuff going for it. In a way I can see this as a legit mario game. So yeah 10 years I guess you can say was worth the wait for a return of this gem

Lambtaco responds:

You'd be surprised a the recognition the first game has. Given the crap quality of most Mario flash games, especially at the time (which was actually eight years ago) the first Koopa's Revenge really stood out. Thanks for the kind words.
