You missed the point of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge completely. It's something you do to raise awareness, and yes, social media does tend to exploit the more humorous side to avoid the uncomfortable truth. But what can't be ignored is the money going towards the foundations that not only research cures but help patients in the meantime, who need assistance and medical fees covered as they and their families battle this devastating illness. ALS was never a joke, the videos made by real sufferers have helped to bring home the point. There was a breast cancer water thing a while ago and no one complained about that. Why does ALS, a disease that before this had very little media coverage, get attacked for the viral campaign that has made a very real effort to not only raise awareness but raise funds?

Congratulations! You completely missed the point of the Ice Bucket Challenge!
The point was to create awarness of the disease and to generate donations for ALS research and support. And guess what? IT WORKED! ALS charities and reseach groups have seen significant surge in donations over the past few months because of this campaign. A campaign, by the way, that was actually first suggested by a person suffering ALS.
Long story short - I know you want to feel intellectually superior to the rest of us who have taken part in this campaign, but the fact is that we've all done a little something to hopefully make lives a little easier for those suffering this disease while your smug cartoon has made no impact at all.
oh my god you guys. you missed something too. oh my god. awh. this video never mentioned that the ice bucket challenge is dumb. what i am trying to prove is that, a lot of people are just doing it without even caring about what the challenge is for. i dont know. just please, think before you release a statement you guys.
