Reviews for "Faint"

Those monsters scared the crap out of me. Especially when I got the alternate ending and there were all those graves. The sound of walking the wind in between steps got annoying; maybe make it a lot fainter? If it's taken out altogether, then it would defeat the purpose of listening. Sure, you're still stopping, but don't realize how much you crave to hear the music after hearing grass crunching, whooshing wind, and creepy static for so long.

I love how active the player is made to be. You actually have to concentrate while playing this, and it never gets mind-numbing or monotonous.

At first I was a little angry, that there were no pointers as to how to play this game, then I understood that the problem was not with the game but with me, my perception and expectations.
Thanks for letting me have that insight!

this game was inspiring to me. It feels like you have a great base to work from and could add more to the concept of stopping, listening, and finding out where to go. I don't have any ideas that come to mind, but it feels like a small idea that could have a lot of uses for a future title, if ever you decide to make a sequel or whatever.

once again, awesome game :)

its simple amazing im a music lover and it just got my attention from the moment it started i dont get what is really happening epecially with the ghosts and the ghost levels but it really cool and i would love to play more games like this the art style is great to.

The mention of headphones gave the impression that this was going to use directional audio, but that doesn't seem to be the case? For me all it seems to do is change the volume level based on distance to hidden objects, which doesn't actually help locating the source of the sound the way the character's closed eyes seem to indicate. I even tried closing my own eyes, but that didn't help.

As another reviewer mentioned, the whooshy movement noise also makes it frustrating waiting for music to fade in and out between steps. Silence would have been better while walking.

A possible straight up bug was when you found an object, it didn't continue playing that object's music, and instead either played the walking woosh or silence. Because of that I often didn't get to hear very much of the music at all.

It looks like a neat idea, but it's bogged down by the implementation that makes it a frustrating audio version of a pixel hunt.

It's weird, it should have directional audio. As you mention, it would be more frustrating if it didn't have it. I'm sorry you didn't like it that much, but your comments are useful and I appreciate taking some of your time to write them down them down. Thanks!
