Reviews for "Mechanic Watermelon"

Nice game, but making it a demo kinda ruined it.

So, let's start with the good, well, it's a good concept, standard get to the goal platformer, nothing wrong there. Now the bad: First of all, you should say "Demo" in the title. Why post a demo game? because you're not confident in posting a full game? I greatly dislike the "Download for free for more content" as my computer is chock full of more important things and I don't need 20 mins of frustrating gameplay to finish it off.

Now the ugly, and I don't mean the art. Well I do, but anyway... Your character is fine, but VERY hard to control. The slightest tap sends him flying and an equal tap may not send him flying the same distance. There also seems to be no rhyme or reason. I thought at first the dots on the side served as some visual cue as to which panels did what, but no such luck. It is random, learn by doing... 30-50 times. Yes, strange robot man, I do know there are spikes there, now, if you had better physics and timing, you would have avoided them.

As a final note, at least in the first few levels that I played, I was curious as to why you saw fit to give this a story, as there seems to be no connection to a story of any sort. Move man, avoid, jump, get glowy thing to end level seems to be as far as it goes. I would have liked to have seen more in the way of background art, such as machines or wires or such like that. Not a lot, just enough to give it the atmosphere you are looking for. Also, there was not much of a sense of "Down" here, only "Across." I'm not sure how you fix that other than some sort of down-travelling wipe or something.

Anyway, I'm going to call it quits on this game. It's a good effort with some potential, but don't post a third of a game and expect more than a third of a rating.

It's all trial and error and doesn't really require skill more over patience.
Moon physics add onto the already annoying difficulty.
I understand making a rage game to make a rage game, but this isn't even a fun rage game.
It's got unneeded difficulty with the moon physics.

i'm crying :'(

I didn't have sound, and wasn't very fun to play. basically you start getting 1 "star" as soon as something can kill you, because I sure as hell am not going to play the levels again

this game, is ungraceful.
