Reviews for "NG Levels 2013"

Really good work here. Just a few days ago I was looking for a list of all of the levels and I couldn't find it, I'm glad I found this neat little gadget today though. I'm not really sure if this could be considered as a game, but it's definitely not a movie. I like the clean interface. Great nifty gadget, thanks for making this.

Also I think adding in the Endless Handbag Loop that played on the front page back in 1998 or so was a really nice touch, it's the loop that defines Newgrounds as a website in my opinion. It also keeps the file size fairly small, so that's also one of the good things about using the Handbag loop here. I also liked how you could mute the audio, that was a nice little feature.

Overall, this was a nice useful gadget. Considering that I've been looking for a list of all of the levels and their icons recently, this was very helpful. I liked the neat interface and the music. I'm looking forward to seeing more from you!

Cyberdevil responds:

Since NG stopped categorizing everything as Flash, creations like this are a bit of a gray zone. They're not games, but they're not movies either, so a lot of gamers give them unfair reviews just 'because they're not games'. I think a lot of people stopped submitting interfaces just because there wasn't any clear place for them, bit of a shame. :/

Indeed, that loop is a piece of history! :) Glad you liked this; thanks for the in-depth review!

A great gadget that Newgrounds needed. It has all of the information that would be expected and more. The addition of a table where it is possible to view at what experience each level is at was a nice touch as was the ability to view any level with any aura.

It would have been nice if instead of one audio it had a few that played on a loop or even with a small NG Radio style bar at the bottom.

Cyberdevil responds:

Glad you liked it! For the audio I chose a tiny loop to keep the filesize tiny, it's also a classic, one that used to play right on the NG frontpage about a decade ago.

It's funny, I was just thinking about this. The level requirements, how much EXP you need, all of that.

While it really is useful, I'm not sure I can consider it a game. However, I would certainly like keeping this around just as sort of a reference.

But real talk, are all of these true? If so, to get to Lv. 60, you have to get your 10 EXP every day for over a DECADE??? Good lord, Newgrounds.. that's understandable, but a bit excessive.

Cyberdevil responds:

Glad you liked it, it's definitely not a movie so it had to be sorted as a game. The Gadgets > Other category seemed fitting.

Yupp, the EXP requirements didn't change since the level redesign, so it's all correct. I've been checking different user accounts to make sure. If you look at the rankings you'll see all the top users (with lvl60) signed up around 2000. It's a long road. :)

Aww, nice to see something from Cyberdevil. In addition to your many reviews, you've made a lot of submissions as well. Here's to good work from a fellow reviewer. Well, I already knew most of this stuff already. I think its changed. I mean, the whole format has changed since 2013!

I'm glad there was more detail put into it. I just wish it was more like, well a game. I do enjoy learning about statistics. This was still pretty fascinating. I hope to see more interesting information like this.

Cyberdevil responds:

Cool to see you here too Ericho; still revvin' the review' engine too! :)

The level set is actually - as far as I know - still the same as it was back in 2013, though a lot of other site elements have changed since. The emojis for example seem to have been revamped entirely at least twice, and the layout's been redesigned almost entirely now, but level icons, B/P badges, whistles... not so much change there. Yet. Would be cool to see some new ones but then again the current set really is pretty thorough. Wonder if they could make it better yet.

Mmm, some actual game with a level-based theme sounds like an interesting idea, might give that a try too some time... thanks for the feedback!

Well, i'm really sorry, cyberdevil, i just don't understand why the people love this, but actually i like all the level icons but i there's nothing interesting or new.

Cyberdevil responds:

It's just an overview of the level and aura system here on NG. You can see the order of levels, how long it takes to reach them; how they look with different color auras. That's basically it.

It was something that didn't exist when this was made. Purely functional gadget, no game.
