Reviews for "MOON"

not impressed.

lack of story, horrid gameplay, poorly developed charecter who is unconvinceing in his role.

i mean this is a man assumed to be trained to handle being shot into space. yet he pisses himself at the sight of a mirror. while a mirror would be a strange sight on the moon, i can't see any grown man having a mental breakdown at the sight of one.
his decissions make no sense. "i recomend rest" *immediatly goes outside*. "i have to get out of here fast" *slowly wadles across station and back*.

and that's another thing, the gameplay. absolutly horrid. you do nothing but slowly walk from one end of the screen to the other. occasional you hit spacebar, or clickto advance the "plot". which this game lacks.

the different happenings seem random and have no end point. the drop off at the end didn't leave me pondering the mystery of plot and the cliffhanger. it left me pondering why i had wasted ten minutes of my life on this, thing, i can't even call a game. your crude attempts to surprise me with flashy screens and sudden loud noises were predictable and failed to scare me.

i have to give you points. the pixel art was nice and the music fit the setting you were trying to protrey. but you expect that only to carry your game.

I really don't see how this got listed as one of the best games of the year. Honestly, the art is okay since it was done completely by mouse, but that's the only quality about the game, however not redeeming.
When I first started the game I was upset that there were only two main controls. Left. Right. Not to mention that John moves like a cripple. It's like there's gravity on the moon, nothing floated, nothing felt like I was on the moon besides the empty moon background. Boring. Boring was my first thought.
Then I saw the blood astronaut, who I thought was John in the future, who's spirit came to haunt him about a gruesome fate that would become of him. Nope. He was actually a completely different astronaut that had no relevence what so ever. That ruined everything for me completely, but let me go back to where I was: I kept going left. Right. Left. Right. Over and over. Moving the plot along. Also, the dialog was not very well edited. It was quite bland and just plain incorrect grammatically in some places.
Plus, when it comes to controls, I would find myself automatically going right or left sometimes when I wouldn't be pressing a button and I could literally moonwalk off the screen and into a black abyss. That was fun.

Really, this game does not deserve such abuse, but it's rated SO HIGHLY. Why? It's a good game if this is your first game or just something that you're putting out as one of your first projects, but it does not deserve acclaim whatsoever. This would have been better as a flash animation instead of a game.

I can't do better since I can't make games, and I guess other people really liked it, but I'm just here to say what's wrong with it. It's not opinion, it's just fact.

EventHorizon responds:

This is not my first game, you are basing only on the technical side of the game and this is wrong, I see that you did not understand the game, you must observe each scene, place and every words because the is not just a game where you move left and right, there is much more and that other users have understood this, but I cannot explain to you the meaning of the game, you have to understand the meaning, I repeat this is not just a game where you move left and right.

Boring

i didnt really like it. the story is pretty clear but its just gonna repeat itself? ya and the walking was really slow.

Achievements-abusing linear repetitive pretentious crap.
