Reviews for "Seedling"

It was a good game, however I am now trapped near where I got the spear (in the place with the lights you can switch on and off). I went down to the hollow tree and there is a green glowing thing in it, but I need the gold key to unlock it, which I don't have. There is no way to go back because when I get to the spinning hammer with the sliding block near the frog people, the sliding block can't be slid out of the way. Is there any way to move that block or get out of here somehow? (Maybe that green glowy thing would help me if I had the gold key...)

ConnorUllmann responds:

You need to push that sliding block from across the gap. This is a pretty hard situation to get out of, but it's possible. You want to kill those two jellyfish guys, push the block from across the gap with your spear while dodging the hammer. Then run around and hit it again away from the hammer, and you'll be out :)

Great game. I enjoyed the simplicity. Although, my only criticism would be the frustration of not having the right key, or the right item to get through a dungeon after I walked half way through it. That happened many times. That could have been my stupidity though. Either way, fantastic game.

ConnorUllmann responds:

I'm glad you liked it! As for getting into dungeons, you can't access any dungeons that you can't beat except for if you enter the second dungeon before getting the sword (where you can go a couple rooms in before you find out you can't proceed due to a rock).

It's a really good game that needs a few things to be a 5*. It would be nice to be able to get a map at a certain point. Also once I was on the lava and then sky stages I noticed significant lag in the game and keys. I should be easy to go back to the main menu and save since this is a really long game by NG RPG standards. Also, once you're done talking to a character that no longer has anything new to say, the x button shouldn't make you have to hear their whole story again.

And yes, it is very Zelda like, but I think most of us have fond memories of that game :)

Also good that you don't have to collect coins or gold for upgrades, just continue on the adventure. Overall very good, just a few minor things to tweak.

::spoiler/ sorta:::
(I got the bloody seed because I hadn't completed the map and after looking for a bit went back to the watcher and just ended it that way)

It's a long ass game, what can I say?

I got stock at the last piece(i pretty much got all the upgrades, had accessed ALL areas at least once(even the one with all the elements, but still nothing), other than that awesome! Though a map would be nice...

Spoiler ahead. The gameplay is fun, but the plot of the game is leaves a bad taste in my mouth especially the illusion of moral choice in a strictly linear game. While it's understood that you're not exactly the good guy in the game, it becomes annoying to be condemned especially in several scenarios where the only way forward is through the boss. The ending itself is also an illusion of choice. Whether or not you choose to kill the Watcher or not the fate of your character is the same. You will be tossed aside and the seed will be planted. The only difference in the endings is which part of that do we get to see. However if we choose to ignore the plot the game is fine the way it is.
