Reviews for "_-={The Tanks Thunder}=-_"

I liked it.

I think this piece was acceptable, it wasn't fantastic, but it was acceptable to listen to all the way through without getting quickly bored with it and moving onto something else. Its missing the little things that make a piece fantastic such as dynamics, and some form of climax, the piece was much too soft all the way through when the instruments and music was begging for it to be more dramatic.

MaestroRage responds:

Little things? Hmm, I would have liked to have your thoughts about these little things. As for Dynamics, I think I may know what you're talking about. The thing is this VST i'm using does not respond to the volume controllers on FL Studio, which frankly means, I have to use them at the volume I set them at, all the time.

Oh well, if I can find a way to alter that things volumes then I can add more dynamics to the pieces.

Thanks for the review, i'm glad you found it acceptable at the least, i'll shoot for fantastic next time!

Very good!

I like this one of your many works! its very powerful and inspiring. but really one thing does stay with me.... really im really not mean or anything. and i never judge anyone directly its just some criticism to consider. um, i guess the way this track made me feel like a "shock and awe" type of war scene going on in my head. my thing im trying to get at is that your description says energetic piece full of hatred and rage. i was looking for that feel more. but its good though! not to say its bad at all!! no way! but i dont think it fits that description. but who am i to say anything! you got a gold track for this!!! LOL!

MaestroRage responds:

Please you don't have to apologize or fear sounding mean by voicing your opinions. I'm always open to any kind of criticism and thoughts. You are right, the description sounds... more brutal then the song actually is, the image I used in my head though, was quite brutal, and so I guess the description complied more to the image over the piece.

Thanks for the review, i'm glad you enjoyed the piece ^^.

Excelent

Very nice, although I feel like its missing something. Out of curiosity, what software do you use? Its very hard to find quality samples, specially those of brasses.

MaestroRage responds:

Yes this song is missing a good climactic build up, and an appropriate ending. An ancient song, one I still hold close to my heart :')

As for the samples, this one was made largely from Edirol Orchestral, with the odd sample here and there from East West Symphonic Orchestra Gold. Now I just use East West.

I know exactly what you mean... Brass is incredibly difficult to find for some reason. The closest I came to finding some decent ones are Project SAM's Brass collection. Check it out if you'd like!

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Almost...

A great piece of work which I should have reviewed a long time ago when I first heard it. Although, if I had to suggest an instrument to add... I would have to go with a very deep drum... like the Taiko drums. An example would be "Taiko Brigade- Medal of Honor:Pacific Assault OST". The parts of the song that completely lack drums do not bring enough of the feel you'd expect hearing giant cube of armor and guns storming through the lines, bouncing and clanking off the ground with every tree, rock, and obstacle in that would stand in front of them.
Although it still portrays a coming battle very well, and, after hearing your more recent works, I'm sure I you already know a few changes you'd make anyway.

MaestroRage responds:

and i'd agree with you. There are a few things i'd like to do to this song at this point. The deep taiko drums for example, is a great idea. Some deep hammer noises might add to it. Instrumentally speaking a few things could be cleaned up, and with close to 0 equalizing that could be added on.

I haven't heard this piece, but I will definitely check it out. Thank you for the suggestion!

And thanks again for the review, whether it be a year, or 4 years delayed, it is never too late to share an opinion :). I'm glad you liked the piece!

I remember this too

I did not really think that this had a tune of hatred or rage as much as I think it did of victory or glory. It is really fun to just listen to the wonder and ambition that comes to your head when you think of the games and stuff that used this. It seemed like it was kind of a medieval atmosphere or at least something taking place in an old church. Holy sounds are always good for music. It did had a lot of energy, but the strongest point was how it really managed to put that energy into a well flowing form of music. Overall, it was great.
