Reviews for "When I Was Young"

It's not a bad game, but it could use some work. I didn't like jumping between screens without knowing where the next platform was, timing the jump was tricky in some spots and there was one screen where the platform above almost keeps you from landing on the one you want. I also thought it was cheap that the clocks could shoot through the landscape, leaving you nothing to hide behind.

The concept is original and has potential, maybe it had something to defend with. (when he is old he can use the stick, when he is adult the briefcase, and as a child the lollipop) also the voice, that should change with him. Otherwise this game is entertaining.

i liked the music and concept.

i didn't like how far you'd get sent back for dying. especially when dying was made easier by the following:

-jumps that you can just barely make with pixel-perfect accuracy (once you're the kid)
-hitboxes that are way bigger than they should be. i'd dodge arrows like a pro just to die anyway

the game was too short and didn't have much to it. nor a warning that you can't jump on enemies to kill them. (this is a failing of many games)

the concept had potential but wasted it.

therefore, when another game comes along using the same concept, i will not consider it a ripoff. i will consider your title to be a time traveling ripoff.

Not too bad, the jumping as like playing and old bad cart console game where its gotta be RIGHT near the edge which seemed quite annoying

Giving it a 3 - 2 for the gameplay (you have to jump right at the edge; also, arrows and such shouldn't be able to pass through the landscape) and an extra star for the art and music, which are quite nice. I especially liked the different, creative enemies.
