Reviews for "Sore Street Romance"

The dark dirty streets of the 1930's revisted

The use of shadows and light along with the music really makes the places shown much seedier and twisted. Hard to believe the Beatles started of in a similar club.

Basset-Hound responds:

haha if anything it resembles the Whiskey-a-gogo where The Doors started out a bit more then the Cavern. It is funny though that you mention The Beatles since they also had a very big influence on my music. Thanks for the review

Art!!!

You gota fine piece of art here! Keep up the good work, one day you will be at the very top!

Basset-Hound responds:

Thanks for the kind words sir

Here is my opinion

You are a GREAT graphic artist but you lack the anatomy teaching for your characters to really shine. I am not saying your animation sucked either because what I saw was beautiful, for everything but the people, the animation was fluid, enticing, and had just the right amount of detail.

Overall, keep learning your anatomy and if you re-watch it, you will probably agree when the guy sings into the mic. 9/10 and keep up the good work. :)

Basset-Hound responds:

I agree anatomy is my weakest point, but I´m not someone who goes off and practice these sort of stuff because its boring. I guess it will come with the age eventually, until then I´ll try to make the best of it.
Thanks for the review :)

It's sort of hard to sum up how much I like this..

This was a work of art. The song was beautiful and the animation moved and fit almost perfectly with it. It's the dark, smoky, growling sort of jazz that's difficult to capture, and you've pinned it down. The colors, the atmosphere, the art style, the characters... everything.

I haven't seen anything like this for a long time.

only 1 complaint

With the exception of the singer's profile, due to the puppet-like movement of his mouth, I loved it. It's perfectly understandable if you were under strict deadlines, but something to work on for future projects that are a little more relaxed.

Basset-Hound responds:

I'll keep it in mind, I'm actually working pretty relaxed at the moment on my next thing so you can expect more finetuned graphics :)
