Reviews for "Trigger Knight"

Overall, very good!

I understand that this is only an experiment. For an experiment, this is exceptional! For an actual game, this is still very good. The only thing I would comment on would be the amount of gold per monster and the fact that Dragons are a bit too powerful. It seems as though the only way to kill a dragon is if you get Divine Edge or you get lucky and Dragon hits low. On one run, I encountered a Dragon but I wasn't even presented the opportunity to purchase Divine Edge! A question that I have is: "What are the golden tickets for?". Overall, very good!

Not bad

Since you say it's a test, it's not bad. For a test.
What changes would be useful:
- Get Divine Edge and Gold Voucher out of game, or change way they work. They're completely random, and are pretty much needed to win the game (Voucher suddenly makes you absurdly rich, and Divine Edge is necessary for fighting dragons).
- Mark Dragons differently than other monsters in event queue;
- Add more variety to fight. One-button mechanic begs for some kind of QTE/timed hits idea (see Mardek RPG series for system like that).
- Some kind of HP regen would make game less reliant on luck, too.
- Some plot, maybe?
Despite some flaws, game is still pretty awesome.

so close to being perfect

The only thing I felt missing was a sense of progression, which would have come with something like "carryover" stats or and upgrade system in between runs, but amazing otherwise

Good game, but it's extremely annoying when you are on a good streak and a random Dragon annihilates you. I started carrying Divine Edges for them and only buying Armor and Soul Shrines, but then my damage was very poor. So yeah those Dragons are very stupid otherwise it's a very good game.

I liked this game a lot, played it for a while back in 2013 and replayed it now in December 2015, just got the Dragonslayer and Game Completion medals, two years after i found this game.
As for the game itself, i think it's very good because it's simple, fun, the sprites are beautiful, the soundtrack, although repetitive, is not annoying - on the contrary, it's quite catchy.
I'm not gonna give it 5 stars because i have one complaint about it, the dragon is too strong and if you encounter him early, you better have a divine edge or else it's game over. I only made it to day 25 because i was very lucky and only fought my first dragon at day 20.
