Reviews for "Theme Hotel"

Good enough. I'd suggest building more elevators.

Having only the normal elevators and the slightly larger ones was a bit boring. The staff elevators weren't really very useful: might as well build another high-capacity elevator if you've got the money and space. It would have been nice to have a really expensive teleportation pad or a pneumatic elevator available in the late game.

Wow I stink: Tips and Suggestions

As I am an abysmal strategy player, this was no exception. After countless runs into practical bankruptcy and many restarts, I finally managed to get a five-star hotel in about 20+ years years. Yeah not that impressive. So while I may not be able to give really good tips and advice, I can offer general (and more obvious) advice, with my criticisms.

Tips and Suggestions:

1. Being super organized/strategic actually doesn't help: Be random about where you place your rooms and activities and NEVER have only one type of room, activity or even elevator. Don't try to map out some sort of pattern to place things either (again, being a super-organized perfectionist doesn't really help here -.-) Diversity is a key to making a lot of money in this game. Alternate where your elevators are and as henrybrice and others before me have suggested, try not stack your elevators more than 5 floors in one column. The problem with the elevators is the waiting. So stack the elevators less so guests get to their floor faster and/or spend more time walking across the hall than waiting. This stops (or lessens as it did with me) the bitching about the freakin' elevators.

2. Start small: Again, reiterating what other people said, going slow is another key to succeeding. I started to finally make money and grow when I started with three floors and stopped adding rooms and entertainment like a maniac. Normally an "well duh" suggestion, but terrible as I am, I messed up a lot on this. Don't be like me >.> Add stuff, REALLY listen to the guest reviews (except the elevator people, they can suck it. There is only so much you can do about this anyway.)

3.Staff elevators are unnecessary: :/ You can get them if you want, but alternating elevators and getting the normal and more capacity elevators are more helpful imo.

Pros:
-Zoom-In/Zoom-Out Function: Very helpful when supervising your hotel. Was also fun to see the details or the room designs (liked the avatar poster in the cinema :)
-Colorful, easy to see and manageable system made the gameplay more effective and user-friendly.
-Save function: Even though gameplay is relatively short (especially if you are good), its great to have the option for people like me who stink.

Would've have liked:
-Employee Roster: It was extremely difficult to see my employees, track their workmanship and fire them. Zooming in to 50% and pausing is what worked for me, but it would be more convenient with a roster.
- More gameplay: more types of staff, more types of rooms, more expansions, even upgrades to activities and stuff already built into the hotel would have been good. After getting the 5-star, there was not much to do and replay value dwindles unless you fail a lot haha .-.
-A click-&-drag option would be good to look around the hotel.
-A stairs option to lessen the f@$#&^ elevator people's complaining.
-An option to adjust the "theme" (such as in the title) would have been fun and more fitting lol.
-To know what the unlockable features are would've been nice, but is not really necessary.

Extremely fun game, very user-friendly and challenging. But the elevator thing was still really annoying though grrrr.

It was fun!

I enjoyed this game though it's 3am here and I'm tired as shit :D

So I get straight now!
The Gameplay is pretty challenging... the people complain about elevators even if u build the fatass expensive ones who carry 10 customers (or employees) at a time... so why do they even exist? they are no help!

Another point is that certifications ruin your business a little... takes a long time until u can build the stuff the customers want and as I tried to build the newest stuff with the 4th star I run into ruins literaly... I have like 50K minus and I
already lend 30K... the bad thing is that I don't know how to get money from now on...
I think destroying rooms and stuff should give u some $ back like a suit cost 2500bucks so if u destroy it u get 500$ at least back...
This would also support people with a laptop as an example or a fast mouse, 'cause if u missclick while placing rooms u r kinda screwed...

There is nothign else to complain about... it's just like I said "challenging" and "fun"
next time add some more floors and make the expanding cheeper... or that I get 4 or more room for the cash... not just 2!
this would also fix the elevator problem a little...

6/10 is my final rating...
-2 because of the problems I mentioned...
-2 because of the lack of reality... a simulation should be more realistic 'cause it is related to the real life!
Still enjoyable and good time waster!

KEEP IT UP!

Got Boring

I'm sorry, but after you get 2 stars it's not fun anymore.

great!!!

Fantastic game, however, i want a way to scroll through the hotel to look at your rooms. I can't see anything on the top floor or build any thing on the roof! please do this next time.
