Reviews for "Bullet Maze"

Very clever!

I did not expect you--the creator of Naked With Apes--to come out with something so quickly. Although this wasn't the first flash that had Ikaruga's duality system, it's nice to see it used for something that isn't a clone of that game.

Graphics: This is easily your best-looking game to date, although I--along with countless others--have complained about your drawings. You have some pleasing color selections and a clever usage of flash gradients. On the other hand, there are times when the color choices aren't aesthetically pleasing. (Example: Level 12)
Music: You did a better job on the sound effects, and great use of Cycerin's music. It really makes you wonder why Audio Portal musicians don't review more flash submissions.
Content: As said before, nice mix between a maze game and Ikaruga/Silhouette Mirage. You have some great bullet patterns and maze layouts going on here. Plus, the addition of keys keeps things interesting, along with the difficulty. However, it can get repetitive over time, but that's to be expected.

What's Good:
-Nice graphics with equally good color choices
-Inventive
-Fun to play
-Great music selection
-Fitting sound effects

What's Bad:
-Can get repetitive over time
-Some of the color choices are hard on the eyes.
-Not the first flash to use Ikaruga's Duality system.

Overall: Here's your nine, and I think it's high time you learned proper drawing skills from now on.

Original

i love the difficulty ramp, and the minimalist feel to it. just goes to show that you can make a good game without over complication.

It's another avoid game BLAM IT--wait...

Very well done! You've done what countless newbies constantly fail at - making an "avoid the things" mouse game that's actually worth playing. Right-clicking to use the menu to skip walls is impossible, as the circle moves slowly instead of instantly. The gaps aren't stupidly small; the patterns, while tough, are manageable. The interface exists and is decent, and the music score is appropriate and solid. Far from being just another blam count, this game is actually worth playing for fun.

I'll give a good review on this one because this just is too awesome to be short.

This game is pretty fun. A good test of reaction time, focus and control. You better focus well if you want to catch on to it. I often got caught on to the pattern after dying enough times. It's a good thing there's unlimited tries. What I didn't really like, is that the color change is too slow between clicks. There's a lag between them so even if you clicked spot on, you won't change till a half-second before you die. The timing window on some of the higher levels are small and short, so a lag like this is going to impede the player. Luckily it's not that bad on a fast computer.

Music: Itself is pretty awesome, good job guys on that. It is enjoyable and not irritating. Keeps your head in the game and almost seems like the rhythm of the bullets go along with the songs on a few levels. 7/7

Graphics: Mesmerizingly nice. You can stare at those bullets and self-hypnotize yourself. 5/7

Difficulty: Just Right. It gets tough early, but it does give you breaks in between of easy and hard levels. So as it progressively gets harder, there are easy levels in the mix to give the player a coffee break so to say. That way they can rest for the next shift in difficulty. Good! 6/7

Controls: Like I said before, switching can lag on you for a quarter-second and that quarter-second could be crucial of passing that level. But, it's still not as bad as other games I've played similar to this. Also the ball can lag behind as it is slower than your mouse cursor, this is necessary at the same time a nail to the head, can cause a tantrum in some players. 3/7

Overall: 6/7 = 85%

Sometimes when I click it doesn't switch colors. Good game though
