Reviews for "Grace"

Grand!

Yep, truly Mogwai and Sigur Ros stuff :), and a little Philip Glass even!

Arbiter is right about the clipping, it also seems like it loops a few ms before it should, but I consider that a minor inconvenience, it's really about the whole soundscape that it leads into.

It sounds refreshingly unpolished, lo-fi if you will, without leaving the impression that the quality of your equipment led to that!

It's wonderfully done man - I can predict it will not get the recognition it deserves, because it just washes over you. However, I know that it takes a lot of craft to maintain the consistency needed for that, so hats off to you man.

The only thing that didn't seem totally appropriate was the wide panning on the drums, mainly the cymbals seemed to come loose from the mix a bit. Perhaps lower the volume a bit on those hi-hats.

Otherwise, I loved it. Download, 5/5. Good luck on MAC6 August!

cheers wintang for the review. again as i mentioned to arbiter i havent got a clue why it's clipping, unless it's the midi to audio conversion. I dobn't know where this lo-fi quality has come from either, it could be becasue when i sequenced it in cubase i did it in midi sequencer rather than normal project and so it routed all the audio to a buss instaed of stereo out.

Im glad you enjoyed the track and i take your comments on board about the drums too.

cheers

Brilliant

Pitbulljones, this is an amazing chill track. The melody is deep and sincere, very touching. This is going on my playlist, it reminds me of my personal inspiration.

The beginning was very mellow and the tone was perfect, but the bell resonance was mch too peircing. It took away from the song and hurt the ears, but I still say that this track is very impressive. The very core chord progression sounds almost "spiritual". The string melody that came in rgeatly comlpimented what was already there, the same goes for the rest of the instrumentation. Perhaps a bit of ambience percussion at the early beginning would have furthur improved this song.

Great work pitbulljones, this track deserves nothing less than a 5/5. I downloaded it and added it to my paylist as well. Cheers!

(Thanks for your vote, nightvision! You voted 5 for Grace, keeping its score at 5.00.)

pitbulljones responds:

Awwww thanls nightvision, im glad you liked the track. The chords are realy simple, and any american should know it, and i'm english, There's a clue oin the song title, (Amazing Grace), i was gonna do the proper pick for it but i thought no, i just took the inspiration from the track.

i'll think about added some ambient percussive sounds earlier on, a few reversed hats and stuff and delayed snares, good idea.

thans for the review, voteand download.

pitters

very nice

the only two things i didnt like were the bell, and taht it took too long for the song to realy go anywhere to me. Other than that it was great XD 5/5

pitbulljones responds:

Hey cheers man for the review, i understand about you wanting things to move quicker, but you have to imagine wher i'm coming from, imagine this as a last track on an album sort of thing. bell's a divider again. thanks tho for the review i hope you enjoyed it, thanks for the five too.

Nice Man

Hey man this pretty good i like the start but i have to agree with others the bell thing messes it up but good work anyways

Greeksta

p.s. thanks for help with making beats and the rest

pitbulljones responds:

Hey man, cheers for the review, again the bells doing peoples nut in. lol theres always something in my tracks that divides people, sometimes a beat, a lead, it's the bell this time. XD

and no probelsm mate, we're here to help.

Ooooooh

Personally, I don't mind the lo-fi feel...it gives it character. Really great chord movements and tone tweaking on the continual tracks. Great stuff, pitters!

pitbulljones responds:

cheers triskele for the short and beautiful review, lol. i think the lo-fi feel works on this track, tho i don't think it was intentional, excpet for the orppening organ synth which programmed to sound very lofi, tis only 3 chords throughout this song, but sometimes the simplest things work well.

thanks again.
