Why did the God King didn´t mind when his extremeties got attacked, stabbed and partially torn apart but he was startling up when the hero was stabbing his thumb?

One of the best fights on newgrounds. This is the standard of animation I want to get to some day. There was absolutely nothing wrong with this and everything was right about it. Anoyone that says otherwise is wrong! I loved the bit when he tore the serpant's head off.
