Retro FTW
I'm playing this game for a while now and really like it.
The graphics are simple, but in a good retro way. I really like the neon-like art style. This and the catchy background tune reminds me of the good old times.
The game itself, game play wise, is also appealing. It's a pretty cool mix of different games. Shooting aliens with gargantuan cannons is always fun.
It's not the easiest game I played so far, but the controls are easy and the action, especially on the later levels, with missiles, lots of aliens and motherships is quite intense and a lot of fun.
I can only recommend the game. It's fun, it seems well done and the amount of content, lots of levels and medals to gain, is enough to get me entertained for a couple of lunch breaks.
Cool Mashup
Even though it gets quite hard in the later levels, this well-polished game brings a lot of fun! The variations of the core game-mechanics are a great idea! (Double-Canons anyone?)
Plus, I really like that glowing retro-style and the music!
very nice
i liked the game overall, but i think i found a bug
i was doing the first 'survival' mission, area 51 i think, and around wave 4, i ran into an invincible enemy. i sat there blastimg him with everything i had for a good 20 to 30 minutes, and he just refused to die. and it seemed like his shields regenerated completely every time he left the screen
its a good game otherwise, with catchy music
would be a lot better if we could keep our weapon upgrades between levels, but that might make it too easy
Doctrine-Dark, thanks for posting this bug, I will look into this.
Keeping the upgrades would make it too easy as you said, but I agree that the game would feel much better with permanent improvements. Unfortunately this cannot be changed anymore. If there is going to be a second part, I would definitely change it :).
Wow....
I'm playing this and I'm saying to mysely "Why hasn't anyone tried these concepts together before?! Galaga and Missile Command with a modern twist. Awesome job!
