Reviews for "Alienocalypse"

Ok but

I have a few complaints principally about the 3rd combat unit, Spiked Crawler.
1 - At some point in the game you need to destroy bigger buildings, and this unit in specific have an aiming problem. When the building is in its "final destroyed form" the crawler just can't hit it, at least not after missing lots of spikes, only one hits it and it's totally random. It could also aim a little higher because of enemies that fly too high.
2 - When the crawler is being chased by the bigger helicopter, if it goes all the way to the right side of the screen it will get stucked there waiting for the enemy to release the bombs until it dies. Like they move practically at the same speed, maybe you could think about reducing the bigger helicopter speed just a little bit or make the unit return after reaching the end of the screen.
3 - The big alien thing that spawns the units is pretty much useless, the blast wave could do some harm at least in the tanks and choppers. Or we could have some upgrades for it too.
Other than that I enjoyed the game, it's a nice concept and not really easy. Of course it is all about strategy and after you find what works for you, all levels can be beaten the same way.

Good but so many flaws....

Its a fun game, but gets very tiresome and theres a whole bunch of problems. As mentioned below, the Monstrous Blockade is for what exactly? As for the Giants Nightmare, having a unit that just does building damage is all well and good, until theres nothing to defend it. The powerups which you can get early if the Giants Nightmare is going at it does no damage to troops at all! Why? The DNA bonus the Assimilator gives you is neglible and it tends to bug if theres a troop which walks round to go into its mouth...then goes off the screen leaving the Assimilator sat there forever trying to attract a soldier that will never come...
The flying troops are next to useless even when fully upgraded. The Alien Lord loves getting stuck too. To complete this game, all you need is a swarm of upgraded grunts and a few Spiked Crawlers. Thats it. Wheres the tactics in that?

Supra easy.

You can just spam the first type of alien, and upgrade it when you have the evolution points, and win every level. It's kind-of sad.

Amazing once you figure it out!

I was frustrated for the longest time trying to work with the flying types, but I eventually figured out a combination of aliens that worked pretty well.

*SPOILERS* My only gripes with this game involve the alien lord, the monstrous blockade, and the power-ups. While it's handy that the alien lord follows close units and retreats to others when the attacking force fails, it gets really annoying when it finds a trap and decides to just sit there for the remainder of the game. I have no idea if this can be fixed, but I thought I'd let you know anyways. The monstrous blockade...well, I can't seem to find a use for it. All it does is sit there and absorb bullets. Perhaps it's meant to be used as a shield??...I honestly have no idea, lol!. As for the power-ups, occasionally the arrow is hidden behind the options at the top of the screen. Sometimes the arrow doesn't appear at all!

I had a lot of fun with this game though, so these minor issues won't change my rating. Keep throwing these games out there, they're really good!

Kinda bland

There's no real control over the game once you've spawned your aliens, and unless you're using demolition beasts, the blast wave is only useful as a means of hurrying along the destruction at the end. The music is cool... but it's very, very repetitive.
All in all, a cool idea, but weak execution.
