Reviews for "SS - Keys of our Past"

Very Nice!

You've collected a great deal of information and presented it nicely. All of this really gets one thinking of where we as people have been, as well as where we could be headed.

@ TKDdan: Wikipedia is not a credible source, which automatically makes your argument somewhat flawed. This is due to the fact that Wikipedia can be edited by ANYONE.

Ok but flawed logic

Wikipedia disagrees: "[...] the Dogon may have had contact with astronomers based in Dogon territory during a five week expedition, led by Henri-Alexandre Deslandres, to study the solar eclipse of April 16, 1893. Robert Todd Carroll also states that a more likely source of the knowledge of the Sirius star system is from contemporary, terrestrial sources who provided information to interested members of the tribes."
It may be good to mention that the Dogon believe in there being 2 stars beside Sirius, not 1. The existence of Sirius B has been validated, but a Sirius C has not yet been concluded (though a small probability MAY exist).
As for the sphinx issue (ah the power of wikipedia), the water erosion hypothesis does not support 11,000 BC. It supports something farther than 3000 BC at the earliest. While it seems possible that a religious group may search only for information that confirms their view that the Earth is 5000 years old, it seems unlikely that the analysis of erosion and other physical traits that are roughly accurate to analyze the date of would be completely off by 8 thousand years by every party who has tried conducting the research. The only hypothesis it turns out that supports the sphinx dating from 11,000 BC is the Orion Correlation Theory (the theory you suggest with the directions of the structures facing cosmological landmarks). Wikipedia also mentions that it is "not generally accepted by mainstream Egyptologists or are unsupported by scientific evidence." So ya the Muslim Egyptologists mayyy be biased enough to make an objective analysis and regard proper facts in their findings as true, but the scientific community has otherwise been like "uh, every other hypothesis points to a date around 2,000 BC to 3,500 BC or something around there. You got 11,000 BC because the structures align with what would've been the view of stars in 11,000 BC? That's all you have on this?" It was a very interesting idea that a new idea could be found about something, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. So far it's only wishful thinking that the alignment of stars is the only possible reason for construction and furthermore, against all physical evidence currently presented (including the very same water erosion theory that you incorrectly cite, at least according to wikipedia).

Otherwise good jokes and animation and I enjoyed it. It made me do this research after all, made me think! Only because I'm skeptical thank science, but still it made me think.

RiverJordan responds:

Yeah i read that on wikipedia, but you should check out "Mystery of the Sphinx", the discovery channel documentary i posted in the author comments and at the credits. It's an amazing insight, and really gets to the bottom of it.

Very Informative

As far as Animation goes. There really isn't anything to say since there isn't any flow of animation to criticize.
But the flow of information made me think. I found myself agreeing with the facts and I thank you for the information.

However, as I watched it, the credits played randomly while the flash was still going on.
I heard the music of the credits playing, but also in the background, the voice of the information guy was still talking. Maybe it was just this one time, but it's a bug that needs to be fixed.

But overall. Very nicely done. You made me think...during the summer time.
I hate you... Hahaha. jokes

RiverJordan responds:

hmm, that's weird. someone just mentioned that to me on skype a few minutes ago too, but i haven't heard of it before then... i'll try some things.. in the mean time, the video is on youtube if you want to just watch it there.

in one word? AWESOME!

this is one of those great newgrounds movies that are just awesome and I enjoyed watching it. The information that you presented is interesting, not so complexe and I just didn't want it to stop because it is interesting.
Great Job!!!
