Reviews for "Chaos in Fairhaven"

Decent

It wasn't the best, I mean the graphics suck and there is no customization available. The damage and attack systems are basic...however if there was some more programming involved I think this game could provide a few hours of entertainment...I think you need to explain the battle system and expand on people you can talk to or befriend. A really good start though. It has super mad potential and you should be proud of yourself for the basic game you have started. Congrats =)

NinjaBilly4 responds:

Thank you for your review. I have stated earlier that the graphics are for humor. They will tie in with the story. I will add a tutorial in the finished product or maybe to the demo when I decide how I want it set up. (i.e. just more detailed instructions with diagrams and such or an informative video.) I am working on the stat ratios and damage problems. As far as combat, it will stay the same. I feel it is different and will also tie into the story.

Why?

I've never understood why people put games up on here that are entirely unfinished. I can understand putting like a level or something up to get some feedback AFTER IT'S MOSTLY FINISHED, but this isn't even close to being finished.

Try again when there's actually something to rate.

NinjaBilly4 responds:

I understand your point of view. Now as far as my point of view goes: If I waited till I was almost finished and had everything working, then posted on here before the finishing touches and it is a awful idea and is blammed, I wasted what could have been months on a project that could have been deleted much earlier so I could work on a different project. If it had been posted as a working but unfinished game with all of the basic elements that will be added earlier, I could change and fix the things that were hated long before it is too late to change it.
Thank you for you review.

A good start

The game as it is needs to be improved (the ideas you have in the description are good). There needs to be a better balance between stats, I could give myself 25 health with each level and I would never even come close to dieing. I gave myself strength points but I never really noticed a difference in attack strength. Also, in the game it says to press "H" for the heal spell but that does not work, it only triggers the graphic, I had to press "F" in order to get the spell to work.

NinjaBilly4 responds:

Right! Thank you for noticing that! I forgot to change that under the spell! I felt "h" was too far away and didnt make a good layer for a button set up and changed it. :P The stat balance I am working on trust me. It for some reason is very hard. Thank you for your review and your eagle-like eyes.

You have uploaded this much too early

Even for a demo.

You should have waited till the battle system at least was near compeltion and the title screen looked a bit better.

Having a battle system that invovles bumping into people doesn't really work if theirs no sound to know whos hitting who.

Also the buttons don't work.

The first person to playtest a game should be yourself. Then you should probably show a few friends. THEN after fixing it it,0upload it onto NG for more feedback

NinjaBilly4 responds:

I agree that you are probably right. But I have been working on this for about a month (Probably like 11 hours during that time.) Thats a long time for me on any of my other project and I feel it shows. I see that you havent contributed anything yet so I doubt you know exactly how it feels to finish as much as I have. It is an amazing feeling. I strongly recommend getting into making games.

Now, as far as the things you mentioned:

*I will add sound effects as a finishing touch, and with 2 heads colliding, both will get hurt.

*I have not had a problem with the buttons but I will check on that.

Thank you for your feedback!

Work at it

I like the start that you have to this so far. Hopefully once you've added some more to the game in a whole, it could grab me more, but so far its not doing the job. Like, maybe something that shows you're attacking, how far away you have to be to attack and not be damaged back and simple stuff like that.

NinjaBilly4 responds:

Actually both you and the enemy are hurt on impact. If you think about it for just a second, if you were to headbutt someone you would get hurt too right? It is kinda like both attack when they hit into eachother. As far as sound effects, those will be added later as a finishing touch. I might add something that shows how much damage is taken from you on the hit, and maybe from the enemy too. Thanks for the review.
