Reviews for "Operation L.O.A.D"

wtf?

Follow the missile?
There's something I'm missing which make this game just pure irritation - after several attempts I'm simply not inclined to try again.

Close to a perfect 10.

That missile moves just a little too fast once you get to orbit, it just speeds away.

Everything else was great. The music was a perfect choice for this. The graphics are good, but not so detailed that the game is over 3MB, nor laggy. The gameplay was smooth, although I would have liked to see keys for melee and the boost. Also, it would have been nice to separate the Rocket fire button, and the laser attack, I often found myself wishing I could unleash the rockets at a different time depending on the amount of opponents I had.
Really, a great game with good replayability, although I didn't notice the ability to upgrade until after my first run through.

I hope you had fun making this game, because I had fun playing it, and I'm sure tons of other people will too.

I LOVE IT

but i think Twad is right, some info is missing in-game, i loose 2 times before i see i need to follow the misile, but like ever, Twad is a bit wrong, you protect the missile because it need explode an enemy planet, you cant be the misile because if you explode the operation fails, but if you die and the missile not the operation can be a succes, and you cant follow it auto because you are to much concentrated on kill robots, so every rest between wave and wave you need to use your booster so you will not loose the rocket, and i think if you are to fast you loose anyways

In-game info in the wrong places.

Why am i protecting a missile with 10% of my speed and acceleration? Why am i not carrying it? An incentive to not get shot to hell at least. (since ennemies seem to ignore it anyway.. so why im am bothering to protect it if its not in any danger?)

I keep "failling" the first mission, even if i let the missile get off screen. What am i doing wrong? What am i supposed to do? I dont know cuz the game doesnt tell me!
...OH RIGHT! I must left-click on myself (or double click on me?) otherwise im somehow unable to follow the extremely slow missile!
Why not make me able to follow it automatically?
Why not make it follow it if i go in the upper part of the screen?

The problem is that i should have known this information right from the start, at the first screen (or immediately accessible from there), not the author comment section outside it... or the small pause button in the corner. BTW, renaming it "menu" would be a bit better imho.

Why am i automatically following the missile in the later levels when i had to un atfer it early on (or lose). Being forced to follow it at all is just a pointless chore, so just make it a background thing to mark progression and let me kill stuff freely.

The upgrades dont feel really usefull at all. Why should i spend "money" on upgrading temporary stuff anyway?
The basic laser does the job well enough. And melee.. in space? Never used it. Never used rockets too.

The "distance" metter should increase dramatically when we are in space... i mean... the other planet is 174 km away??

Maybe it would be nice to show that ennemies have to work to get to us rather than pop everywhere (like seing a few in the background getting closer or whatever)

UI could be clearer. Repetitive. Music is irritating.
Good concept, gameplay works well in general. i like the explosions. Ennemies are a reasonable variety.

Not bad

This has a little of the classic arcade feel to it, but it lacks variety. I know this is a flash game, but the game became repetitive at around the end of stage 2. but all in all, this is a very good game, and i enjoyed spending time on it
