What do you mean not attacking america? It is attacking america and is dammned right to! They had absolutely no reason to 'test' a bomb on, like you said, 200 000 lives. It was appauling. This animation is absolutely brilliant, it really illustrates the USA as a country that couldn't give a shit. even now, Bush? come on... then again, our tony blair, bush's right hand man, vice presedent of the world aint that good either... shut up matt... anyway, excellent animation. it just rocks. you got it all right, well done, this deserves some award.

Holy Jesus in Heaven...

...I would respectfully ask all those who have posted regurgitated apologist claptrap about the US's decision to use the bomb in WWII to read some history. Between July 11-26, 1945, after the Potsdam Proclamation, the Japanese *had* stated ththeir intent to end the war. The only sticking point was the decision for 'unconditional surrender' on Truman's part. So...important fact one: the japanese *were* ready to at least discuss grounds for peace. We will of course never know if such an effort would have been successful. Important fact two: most contemporary commentators, even those who, for whatever reason, believed that the bomb was justified, acknowledge that Truman was heavily influenced by his fear of the vastly superior conventional forces of the soviet army over-running europe. So..important fact 2: dropping the bomb on Japan provided a nice little demonstration of its power.
There is obviously much about the actual thinking of Groves and Truman that we are not privvy to, but the 'shortening the war' argument just doesn't cut the mustard for anyone whos got two neurons to rub together. I'm hoping this includes a few newsgrounds viewers...

Pretty deep..

The US doesn't owe Japan an apology, it does seem unfair that Japan's major action was against a military base and the US's was against civilians, but thats what happens in war. The only apology that needs to be given is from Japan to the rest of Asia, for the acts of savagery, inhuman, and sadistics acts they dared to commit.
