pretty fun game

but i def feel like the ship needs to move more faster than what it is...

Wow cool :3

This is a good game, smooth animations, the retro feel 80's music captures the vibe of playing on an arcade cabinet.
Enemies get knocked back when i shoot them sometimes which is good, but it got kind of annoying when i fought the bosses as they just got knocked back out of sight of the screen.
Then ship moves too slow to be a high intensity arcade shooter like it's suppose to be and it's not nearly as hard since im not being showed by bullets, but again thats a good thing as the ship moves pretty slow. Still the game is way too easy as i can just hold the space bar the whole time.
As for pickups it's pretty helpful that they are permanent even after i die but this doesn't help the game become more challenging.
Also i think there was only ONE boss battle this whole game on level 3, not even the last level had one just said "congrats. you win; enter name"
Hardly a good ending.

Good Potential

Reminds me of the scrolling shooters I used to play back in the day. It's a great idea, but the difficulty is almost non-existent at this point. Perhaps adding enemies other than that boss that fire back?

Also, the knocking enemies back with your attack felt... odd with the boss. The orbs were okay because I felt I had to keep them back when three/four of them were coming at me. That frantic juggle was fun. With the boss, though... For almost the entire fight I was shooting off screen, unsure if I was even hitting it.

Overall, it was great for four months of work. More time, increased enemies/difficulty, and a bit more polish and it'll be a fantastic game.

A little amateurish once you get into it.

Your art is slick and your controls are smooth. There's potential here. Some of the gameplay feels a little untested, though, especially in the way that bosses are set up to fire in patterns that your ship is far too large to slip between and too slow to dodge. If you want to make a curtain shooter the hitbox needs to get -way- smaller on that. It wouldnt' be a bad idea, either, the wide angle fans of bullets are the only attacks the bosses have that are even very threatening at all, and they all die fast enough that there isn't really any sense of danger here as is. You'll get scratched by the one dangerous attack but it's pretty hard to lose.

I can only guess by the sudden ending that it's half finished. It's got some promise so far and with some polish I'd like to see more.

Close, but not really

First of all, great start. I like the music and graphics and concept.

Now for what I don't like.
The ship moves too slow. There are times i just can not move fast enough to move out of the way of a stationary item.
As far as the obstructions go ... wow, yeah, you programed and built this game, so you know what is what, but I can't tell until I hit something. There is a nice background/ foreground going on , but you put the obstructions on the same scale as the foreground. Until I hit it once I don't know it is there. The circular spinning things, once they get to you, that is it, they move just as fast as you, you can't get away. The only "boss" I saw, well I did win without dieing, but there were times it shot, and there was not enough room, or I could not move fast enough to get by. Not a problem if I start the next level with all new energy, but I am stuck where I was. Every time you die you respawn with all three lives, as I watch my game go over and over as I write this.
Without getting into too much more, great start of a game, real potential with the game and you, keep it up, this just needs a lot of polish.
