Reviews for "IQTester"

um...

I thought I did well the first pass. THEN I answered them all wrong (as wrong as can be) and still got 102. Not very accurate. IQ is supposed to be based off of your age, too...there's no way it'd know without entering it.

DemiseAnimation responds:

There are no right or wrong answers, I have no idea how you managed to pick that out.

Regarding the age, this is based on fundamental intelligence, it requires no memory usage.

This doesn't test I.Q.'s accurately.

I like the music you've selected for this flash. It fits with the flash and isn't distracting. You've even put the option to turn off the music for those who complain.

It's also nice that we can change the quality, although the game doesn't run much differently with the minute visuals changed. I didn't really notice any of the questions being time-based, so lag didn't really affect much.

The game is text-based, so I can't really praise any of the art. I like the pixelated text, and I like the color scheme. It's not distracting, and it also goes with the music.

Having twenty questions limits how much the creator of an I.Q. test can assess another person's intelligence.

People should know how inaccurate I.Q. tests are by now. When the average I.Q. is above 100, there needs to be a reassessment of the way the questions have been made. 100 is the average. Your chart is incorrect since you've put 90 as average and 100 as above average.

You've even stated that the chart is based off of Mensa's model, yet Mensa accepts multiple I.Q. tests with varying standards. Your description of Mensa only mentioned that Mensa is an "organisation of intelligent people." With such a crude explanation, a person could assume that Mensa was an organization with intelligent people that happen to create I.Q. charts.

Also, trying to define "intelligent people" is also difficult when one has to contemplate what is considered "intelligence." A game show where the questions revolve around pop culture shows its participants displaying trivial knowledge. Trivia questions are still questions based off of one's knowledge.

Don't forget that tests like these assume the test taker speaks English. The word-based questions judge a person's ability to understand the English language. The same person could be one of the most intelligent person in the world, yet only read, write, and speak Mandarin. They won't know certain words, roots, or even usage. Even within English-speaking countries, there's the issue of actually knowing certain words. For example, it's possible to call Tetris simplistic, but Tetris isn't simple. The word, simple, is often interchangeably used as simplistic.

There's spelling and punctuational errors, as others have pointed out. After testing a certain question to see how much my intelligence quotient would rise, I found an incorrect question.

"If all floops are doops, and all doops are moops, all moops are definately floops." I chose both answers different times. I received more points when choosing "true." Let me show an example of how that's incorrect. All monkeys are mammals. All mammals are animals. All animals are monkeys. Well, that's not true. Rabbits are animals, and they are mammals, but they aren't monkeys. This question determined whether or not my I.Q. increased by 4 points.

All in all, this was a pretty fun test. It still bothers me that that specific question is incorrect. If you've taken the question and answer straight from a test, then I can't really blame you, but it would be better to thoroughly check your questions should you decide to make another test.

(I've never been considered a genius until I've played this game, so I think your game's flirting with me. Thanks for creating such a flattering I.Q. test.)

Yes yes all been said before

Complete and utter crap

1 The questions were all easy. 2. Literacy learning can be achieved by answering the few complete the sentence questions remotely right. 3 the IQ score is wrong as well. If my IQ was indeed 126 id be eligible and already enlisted in the Organization of intelligent people or something like that ( really theres a group of people who formed a organization for those with high IQ. How fucked up is that) My actual IQ is 115-120 Which is above average. The only way for you to find ur IQ is take a minimum of 3 tests and average them out since each test is different and focuses on certain styles of learning/ Logic.
