Reviews for "The Festival"

The change at 01:01 is fantastic!
I thought it was going to go into some weird Eastern melody for a moment (Before remembering the theme) but you really did a great job. For some reason it reminds me (In places) of the Sherlock theme but then it reverts back to the happy folk melody.
Quite an uplifting piece!

Step responds:

Woo, glad you enjoyed it! A friend of mine also told me it sounds like the Sherlock theme (but the Hans Zimmer one, which is what you're referring to I'm assuming). Might be that harpsichord.

Thanks for leaving some feedback.

Amazing i love how it is so miniature yet it packs a punch.!

Step responds:

Thank you! I loved your NGADM audition to bits by the way!

I appreciate the review.

I love the song! Just one suggestion: instead of having a single loud clap, make it sound like a synchronized clap from a crowd of people. That would give the song a more festival-like mood.

Step responds:

Hm, you know that actually isn't a clap (although it sounds a lot like one). It's a clap-like sound made by the daiko drum I used, and that particular patch I used only had that sample which sounded like it did. However, I coincidentally used your idea in another song of mine (which I won't make public for a long time) since that one DID have a clap, and I synchronised like 8 claps together. Each time the claps were played I'd shift their time around slightly so it felt more human too.

In hindsight, I could've layered a few claps of my own on the drums so thanks for the tip! I'm glad you liked the song.

I know you love criticism, but I bet you can guess what I think of this track. You're almost like the Nobuo Uematsu of the Audio section on Newgrounds. You're wonderfully talented and I love the obvious celtic influence in this piece! Reminds me a little of a better-produced version of Final Fantasy IX's "Eternal Harvest", at least stylistically! Amazing job man.

Step responds:

Nobuo Uematsu of the Audio section haha. Never heard that one before! Nobuo is amazing though, I don't think I'd ever be able to be compared to him until I've got at least 183 years of music experience!

This does indeed sound like Eternal Harvest, now that you mentioned it. Thanks a lot for the review though, much appreciated!

This song is my favorite ever :D

Step responds:

Aw thank you :3.
