Reviews for "The Festival"

What can I say? The master has done it again!
Fantastic work, catchy melodies, perfect mixing, great feel, beautiful instruments, I couldn't help but smile while listening to this, especially that end part.
For the flute in this you might be interested in Embertone's "Jubal Flute", it would fit perfectly! Check it out. :)

Step responds:

Wow man, thanks for such high praise!

I'm thrilled that you liked this. I heard that flute and it sounds excellent; I wish I could buy it but I don't have a credit card and the debit card here in Malta isn't compatible anywhere else. I really need a flute like that though; there are a few in Ra but I've used them too much, and as I'm sure you'll agree, with instrument samples, the more the merrier.

Thanks for the review, it made my day!

beautiful composition! great mix. I love the change you did at 01:03
Nice work mate!

Step responds:

Sweet, I'm happy you liked it. I had been planning on changing to something a bit more upbeat halfway through, and I was hoping the transition wouldn't be too sudden.

Thanks!

Wow.... how do you make something sound this good... i'm at a loss for words.

Well done!

Step responds:

Oh hey, thanks for another review. Much appreciated :3.

Alright, imma commentate what I hear. As I hear it. Starting off, it sounds like a bright sunny day. You definitely got the grassland feel in there. Bright, upbeat, and full of a natural feel. And then, it transfers over to a sorta indian/adventure feel. Like the main character is changing scenes as you follow his journey. Or running through the grasslands meeting up with other comrades. Lot of energy. Yep. That's what I see from this song. Great job! Sounds epic to me! :D I'd say you hit all the notes that you wanted to hit. 10/5. If I could actually give you 10 stars. >.> Keep up the epic work!

Step responds:

Great to hear! Energy and majesty are two things I tried to nail, and it was hard to nail both in one track, which might've led to the track sounding disjointed, but ah well! I'm happy to see that you like it!

"10/5. If I could actually give you 10 stars."

You're making me miss the review score system before the site redesign where the score systems were out of 10 x_x.

Thanks again, much appreciated!

I know you love criticism, but I bet you can guess what I think of this track. You're almost like the Nobuo Uematsu of the Audio section on Newgrounds. You're wonderfully talented and I love the obvious celtic influence in this piece! Reminds me a little of a better-produced version of Final Fantasy IX's "Eternal Harvest", at least stylistically! Amazing job man.

Step responds:

Nobuo Uematsu of the Audio section haha. Never heard that one before! Nobuo is amazing though, I don't think I'd ever be able to be compared to him until I've got at least 183 years of music experience!

This does indeed sound like Eternal Harvest, now that you mentioned it. Thanks a lot for the review though, much appreciated!
