This was Awesome!!! Though I agree with the others that it should have been longer or have a stronger reaction from one of them. If you did that then this would probably be among the top 50. Still Very good.
Too good to be a short
The two characters were cute depictions of folklore with an undertone of dynamics. The short was entertaining at the least, but there could have been much more done with the plot and the characters than a simple "woops-that's-not-food" joke. You say that the Bitey animations inspired you; watch them again. Each of the Brackenwood films (the ones that your animation resembles the most) delves into a story of considerate meaning. If you took your animation to that level, it would be among the greats.
And as a P.S. note, the sound could be a little better; it's a small problem to an otherwise great work of art.
