OK, but not Great

At first the game was far too difficult. I was trying to be all strategic, and what not, but in the end I found the only way to win is to spam my units. Once I figured that out I beat Normal in 22:33 and then Hard in 16:35. It was a good game with great concept, but lacks the difficulty I was prepared for.

The graphics are well done, not over drawn or simplified, but very nice to look at, sounds too were... pretty good, but more variety wouldv'e been great though. Gameplay... its impossible to beat. On normal, the douche below me, I don't know what he's been smoking, but you've made the game literally impossible to beat. And that drains ALOT of the fun out of this, otherwise awesome game.

In these games, e.g Age of war, upgrading the tower is often the way to go, it does 2 things, gives you great defence, and does the same job as soldiers do, but never degrades or dies, and gives the enemy 0 gold and 0 xp. Now, I found it interesting that despite not once using a soldier the enemy was able to upgrade their tower and endlessly spam soldiers AND be able to get assassins before me. Where could they be getting the xp and gold? Poor game balance that's where. From then on it was just a lost cause, sure, I was holding out fine, my hero was raping everything, and anything that got near my tower died within a second, but then, here is where Mr. ffgameplayer here really showed his true talent, one catapult, one, destroyed not only my tower from out of range and insanely quick, BUT IT KILLED MY LVL 6 HERO WITH ALL ABILITIES USED.

GG badgame is bad, so anti fun.

Also, nice LotR reference with the Wargs, was hoping for a lack of WoW/LotR/some other nerd war game/book/media outlet but whatever.

absolutely terrible...

i went on normal and suddenly he got 20 soliders to storm my stronghold in like 1 minute in. i could understand maybe if i was on impossible that would happen but normal...? If you are gonna make a good game make one that has difficulty = what it says. make sure there is some kind of learning curve as well, not just tutorial......go! All i did was lose, on normal. try next time adding a little less agression on this game and make it more fun to play....easy is slightly difficult as well.

Not great

I liked the background, and the way the trees fade out. But the tower wasn't very pretty, which is a let down.

The customization of the fortress is limited, which again, is a huge let down. I understand I can't have a Black Deathskull buried into the side of a mountain with flame coming out of the eyes. But maybe let me stick another cannon or two on, or trenches in front to slow the enemy, or a moat, or a drawbridge, or even just let me change a flag. Something.

And, as previous mentioned by a few people, the balancing is hard. I see people have beaten it, but I don't know how. I have tried constant attack, and I run out of funds. I've tried defending, and occasional attack, and I eventually was overwhelmed. I even thought that if I didn't buy a single unit, then the enemy wouldn't advance beyond low troops. I stopped creating units (except the Boss) when they had soldiers (with the shields and broadsides). They killed my boss once, maybe twice. They STILL got the catapult before I did.

Just, no. It's too hard. It's a remake of Epic War, which isn't done quite as well as Epic War. The one innovation, and I liked it, was terrain - being on high ground gives an advantage, and so on.

Other than that, sorry to say, but it's just a bland copy.

You have real potential. Either redo this, balancing it and add a feature or two. Or work on something else, some crazy original idea, no matter how stupid. I'd look forward to that.
