Interesting, but has a few flaws
This game is pretty good. It takes the old simple "push blocks and solve puzzles" concept and throws in a bunch of curveballs that make it more complicated and entertaining. The visuals are all great, the music is great.
However, gameplay itself is a little iffy. The character controls are a little tough to master sometimes, and collision detection seems a little to generous on certain objects. Level 9 is the first real example of that, as avoiding the gauntlet of enemies took more luck than skill. I mean the character is not moving that quickly, it isn't a factor of reaction time, it's a factor of you can't tell when you're going to hit something or not. Then you are suddenly walking into a wall for no reason and splat you're dead.
Also, bosses that are based on simply doing it over and over and over until you've memorized a series of things is just cheap, and uninspired. For such a creative game, making players sit through some of the most hated aspects of gaming and memorize things for the sake of memorization doesn't really reward them for just figuring out all those tough puzzles. What the hell is the point of all the puzzle gaming if it ends up just being a simple memory game in the end?
I like this game a lot. There's some really cool stuff going on in it. But it seems like parts of the game were sort of tacked on, such as these quicktime events. Don't make things difficult by making them cheap, make them difficult by making them hard to figure out and difficult to execute.
