Reviews for "Alice is Dead - Ep 2"

Beautiful, but unsatisfyingly short.

Now, don't get me wrong when I give this game a score that's less than 10. Allow me to explain.

My only qualm with this game is that it was far too short and didn't progress the story enough. This would normally not be an issue if episodes in the series were being released every other month, but it takes 4 months to produce a click/point game of this caliber. Naturally, after this wait, I was hoping to at least uncover something about the main character, or at least what was even going on. The story does not appear to even have a direction at this point, leaving on the exact same note as the first episode (he still killed Alice). There may be a reason for all of this, and perhaps everything shown so far ties in together at the end, but it would be nice to offer the player some kind of payoff.

Nevertheless, the contributors do a fine job with nearly every other part of the game. The art is simply beautiful, the music is delightfully creepy (as is the voice acting), and there are no apparent bugs in the game. Only the story needs more work.

P.S. Do the bell and button serve a purpose? Also, is it possible to unlock the 'restricted' prisoner lookups (Alice and Rabbit)?

ImpendingRiot responds:

I appreciate your review and your concerns, however I assure you there is more to the story than you may think at this moment. I encourage you to get the last medal, using the terminal, this may help you understand the story and where it could be going. The bell will have a purpose in the future hopefully, otherwise I'd be angry if I was the rabbit. And no, there is no way to unrestrict Alice and the Rabbits profile. Perhaps the fact they're restricted means something.

I do apologize for the wait, it wasn't so much development time as it was personal time just dealing with real life issues and responsibilities.

I appreciate your review, and length will be something we try to address with the next one, as long as it doesn't interfere with quality.

Perfect

After the first amazing installment of "Alice is Dead" this one had a lot to live up too. But I was not only amazed at the beautiful graphics but the wonderful flow of the game. This game seems a little darker than the first, possible because it has a urban theme, rather than a fantasy. I really would love for the next to be a little longer, but other than that the game was seamless. Fantastic work, i can't wait for the pt. 3.

ImpendingRiot responds:

Thank you for the kind words. Length was a concern for us this time too, but between the game already being delayed, and the fact we added many new features, we felt it was worth releasing it still.

Yes, we did go for a darker tone this time, to not only help further establish the characters and settings, but also as a tool for establishing the story we're trying to tell.

Once again, thank you, we appreciate it.

Finally

Along wait for this and I'm not disappointed.

ImpendingRiot responds:

Whew, I take all the blame for the wait. Hyptosis, Andie, and Tomamoto were all quick and efficient with delivering what they needed to. I fully admit I am responsible for the delay.

WOW

I can't believe after the MASSIVE wait the game STILL met and exceeded my expectations, loved it can't wait for the next one

ImpendingRiot responds:

I am sorry for the wait, but I'm ecstatic it exceeded your expectations. That's all we were hoping for.

Thanks again

Great, but hard on one part

Really good continuation, but, the code is sooo confusing, im lost. I leave you with a 9 because code is hard lol. good story-line too. Mad Hatter drawing matched...his title. The music fits this game nicely too.

ImpendingRiot responds:

The code is a word, if that helps. It's not random letters.
