Not terribly funny
The jokes were there it just wasnt as funny as I think you were aiming for.
The colors sorta blended in with eachother and there wasnt any definition so at times the characters were hard to descern from the background. The acting sounded very rehearsed and unbelievable nothing much going on here.

If you haven't already you may want to check out some of our other sketches. Each one has a slightly different style of art and writing (and many of them improved all together) so you may find one more to your liking.
As far as this one goes, hey you can't blame us for trying something different (for us at least) haha.
This is what happens when...
A group of friends decide to animate their inside jokes. There wasn't much of anything to draw me into this flash. I can understand your friends probably thought this was the coolest thing in the world since you included them, but really... you need to work on your story telling (and maybe re-evaluate your friend's sense of humor). The jokes were clear, but not funny. The animation wasn't anything to write home about, truth be told, this was a sub par animation, and believe me, I should know, we smell our own. Yeah, you got the front page, but stack your animation against what was submitted into the portal that day and see if any other competition actually existed. Next time, write a script, then re-write it without the input of your posse. Once you've got a finished product you feel proud of... just... go ahead and write it again. You know what they say about the third time and all that. You've got potential, just put it to use and cut the dead weight.
I can totally respect your point of view and the fact that this short wasn't for you, but I just wanted to correct a few of your incorrect assumptions.
I'm not entirely sure how movie references constitute an inside joke in your opinion but that's okay, I'll let that slide haha. We are actually a working comedy troupe out of L.A. and this piece is actually a part of our series we do here on newgrounds (you can check out our series page http://www.newgrounds.com/collection/
sketched.html for our other work, you very well may find something you like better there). This skit was written by one person as a part of our pilot currently in consideration for airing. We decided to release the skits here as a courtesy to our fans.
So far as storytelling goes, I know it's hard to tell from these short episodes, but the series itself is animated sketch comedy, so it isn't meant to be a developed story arc, but rather random scenes of silliness much akin to SNL or Kids in the Hall.
When it comes to front pages I believe this is our 8th trip to the front and I STILL have no idea what the choosing process is haha. I do remain greatful for every viewer NG has helped us to attain.
Although, because you made massive assumptions that were wrong about the way the skit was made your advice has little application, I completely respect your opinion and the fact that this short is not to your liking. I also thank you for at the very least attempting to be constructive and for the most part remaining positive. Again, if you feel like it check out some of our other stuff, you may like it better.
