Reviews for "Futility"

Awesome game

I liked it, some people would say it had problems but I didn't find any.
10/10 because even though it was a platformer game it had its good original ideas, which were good. It had allot of monsters and bosses, allot of powerups and was a really good game.

10/10.

Based more on luck than skill

First of all i can tell you put a lot of effort into this - and it is actually an awesome game. However there are a few things that seriously undermine it. The game is based more of luck than skill. Sometimes a boss seemed inpossible, and other time id get the shield + lazer and kill it in about 5 seconds. The levels also seemed to be luck based - is this platform going to stay or fall? no way to tell. Is it safe to drop down here? no way to tell. Sometimes i thought i was going to drop to my death and ended up fighting the boss, other times i was sure i was at the boss and would fall to my death. It seems the secret to beating the game is just to try over and over again until you get the easiest level layout - this takes a lot of fun out of it. Overall i did have a lot of fun, but i found mself getting extremely frustrated with this luck-based system.

A very good "Meh"

The graphics and visuals are very simple but it all fits well with the game style. The music is plenty of awesome, although some songs seem repeated for no real reason. Sound effects are good I suppose. The levels are quite unbalanced, the platforming levels are short and become too simple and predictable, and some bosses seem out of place. It would be great to see more direction with the concepts rather than just 'random bouncy bouncy killy killy', especially since this has its potential. could of done alot more with instruction giving.

Very Entertaining

smooth gameplay, the music didn't get annoying after awhile, the different boss combinations kept it from getting too monotonous and the power ups came and went at great times.
I liked being able to have the choice of either wading through the enemies of each level or scout the map and aiming towards the boss platform. I was also pleased with the self configuration settings.
My one gripe was I got to a level where I had to ascend in order to proceed but the gap for me to jump was too high. Possibly my bad but I had to end there.
Thank you for the very entertaining game!

This is a great game with an annoying camera.

A lot of love and effort went into making this flash and it shows. But this game has a problem that brings down even the greatest platformers out there: the camera. Mind you, it serves its purpose, to follow the blue, eyelaser shooting guy through challenging randomly-generated levels but it is waay too zoomed in. Easy jumps become leaps of faith because 80% of the time you can't see the next platform and to make it worst, in the latter levels, one has to deal with moving platforms. And to top it all off because of the randomness of the levels, the boss platform can be anywhere. This is a pretty odd problem seeing as how the camera can actually zoom out to the point where blue guy becomes a little speck.

Ugh, this is too long so I'm going to cut it short. Awesome game, weird as hell camera, much fun was had. Also, can't wait till Chaos Faction 2 is released cause I seriously think that the first is one of the best online fighters out there!
Awesome job and peace out!
