It boggles the mind. It really does.
Just... how can one game be remade so many times, and people not get tired of it? I just... it amazes me.
This format is so god-forsakenly old that it should have references in the Dead Sea Scrolls at this point, and yet Newgrounders continue to trumpet these shameless clones on the front page time and time again. It's completely inexplicable. I mean... am I nuts? Am I the only one seeing the repetition here? Does this REALLY deserve 8.4 of 10 while games actually trying something innovative like 99 bricks can't even scrape a 7.5/10?
At the very least, I don't think so. I may be locked up in an asylum for saying something so apparently crazy, but:
THIS GAME IS SHIT.
It has the exact same format as thousands of its predecessors, it uses balloons in what I suspect is an attempt to NOT animate moving enemies, it contains no story, character development, or plot at all, it shamelessly asks for monetary donations, it shows no variation amongst any of its maps or "enemies", but worst of all, the producers who made it, MochiGames, seem to be trying to imitate Popgames by giving us games which aren't worth beans and demanding that we pay for "enhanced experiences" in them, even though it bears saying that if we had that scratch lying around, we'd probably (hopefully) be smart enough to opt for something with a little more innovation in its creation.
I'm sure at this point some men in white are coming to escort me to the funny farm for blaspheming against something popular when I have no experience making anything similar myself, but in the words of Monty Burns, "You know, I'm no art critic. But I know what I hate." And if I can criticize Hollywood for making generic movies, I can criticize game developers for the exact same thing.
