Wow

I have to say, I'm truly impressed. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that this is the best flash game I've ever played. It's certainly the only time I've ever made a voluntary donation to a flash artist, but I appreciate the huge amount of work you must have put into this and would love to see a sequal.

My biggest criticism is that the game did seem rather stupid at first, and I expect that this will have put many people off. When Nera is the only main character it just doesn't work to portray her as an inexplicably rude and angry person. The first few scenes just seemed like a rather half-hearted attempt at a plot, with ideas that seemed like something out of a game for a 7 year old.

However, once the three main characters meet up the game really starts to come into its own. Emi's happy-go-lucky personality counter-balances Nera's ultra-moodiness very nicely. Then we start learning about Gely's true identity and the nature of the strange world the character's find themselves in, and the story and dialogue become more and more engrossing.

The combat system is unique and brilliant. It's really not too difficult like some people are saying (I completed every battle on the insane setting), it simply requires a lot of thinking and strategy, kinda like a game of chess. The potential for using your unit's abilities to complement and enhance each other is very clever and enjoyable. Your idea of conjuring the tarots to help in battle is inspired.

Building up the characters is really fun and exciting, and the attributes and perks are well balanced. There's even good replay value in building up the characters in different ways.

Best of all, the game is long, with many hours of lifespan. I didn't expect that at all, since most of the flash games here are mini-games. As a side note, I'd really like to know why I only appear to have the game 98% completed. got all the moon shards and won all the bonus battles, and even got The Lover's tarot. What more should I do?

Finally, it makes a big difference that the game is well-polished. The artwork is very appealing, with lots of nice little touches. The combat animation is beautiful and adds to the appeal of the characters.

All in all, despite a slow start this game turns out to be totally awesome! For all those who are struggling with this game, stick with it for a while and read the strategy guide where necessary!

Amazing!!!!!

I come to newground for stuff like this!
It's simple to play yet very fun and the possiblities are limitless!
Sure it's not the next big square enix, but it's a game from a gamer to gamers.
Very fun and to play, the story has a few plot holes here and there, but it's simply overshadowed by the rest!

Great Game

found one glitch though lol... at the end of the game if you complete the holy egg sidequest and u try to warp it'll trigger a cutscene saying there is nothing there and return u to the warp zone however right after the cutscene if u try to use the holy egg again the scene where Tosl transfers u to the warp gate will constantly loop over and over and there's nothing u can do about it other then that everything was great keep up the work guys

Not bad

This is an awesom game the likes of which i would more commonly expect of a console game not a flash. didnt get to play through most of it but so far it is great

Good ideas, but failed overall

At the time of writing this review, I have spent half the day (being sick is fun) attempting to beat the Shadow boss fight. I'm beginning to wonder if this is even possible. I don't see how it's helpful to give them a weakness to White magic when none of the characters in the party can USE White Magic - especially if you're going to make them immune to Physical - which makes Gely useless, IMO. The Shadow versions are so tough that Shadow Gely one-shotted Sisi several times.

Outside of the Shadow version fight, I find the characters, while having interesting concepts, lacking in presentation. The main character, Nera, is at best unrelatable, and at worse a cliche-spouting twat, although I enjoyed Sisi and Gely - at least until he started flirting with Nera. Next time you're working on character development, try finding a Mary Sue testing service - there's plenty out online. Also, I was rather shocked when I discovered Emi is female, although that's just me.

The battle system, while in need of some work, is very ambitious, and was the main thing I enjoy about this game. The attacks and moving system were fun to work with, especially in the case of Sisi , Emi and Gely, as well as the summons. My only complain in this regard is that the Priestess was the only healer in the party, and she has the bad habit of dying rather easily, while I needed her the most. Just fix the difficulties for several of the fights.

The storyline, while creative, was incredibly linear, although in a JRPG I have no excuse to complain about that. With better developed characters, I can easily see the story becoming incredibly interesting, especially the bit with alternate universes.

As an artist, I'm incredibly easy to win over with by aesthetics, and DAMN is this game pretty. The costumes are cool, the back grounds are beautiful, and the monsters are just plain fun to look at. Great work, there. ^^

So, in the end, you've got a great concept, with good art and a strong back bone, but the cliched characters and the poor difficulty kill the enjoyment factor, and if the only reason someone's trying to beat a game is because of Gamer's Pride, then that's a hint that something has gone wrong.
