Reviews for "Clockwords: Prelude"

I could

I could see this as a full game. Improve the amount fo words that work with power ups and such and you have yourself a very nice time killer otherwise still a good game.

Brilliant

Simply wonderful.

I think alot of people aren't really getting the point of this game. The idea is actually not to form ridiculously long words, but rather use the letters creatively to perform more damage. It takes word typing skills to a completely new level. It had me racking my brains for words that used up all the letters that came out of the boiler to have that extra punch. Sometimes, creating a ridiculously long word doesn't help and can actually cost you the game simply because simple letters cause only one damage. The main feature in this is to think creatively, not just a test of vocabulary.

I did have a whole load of fun playing this thing. The display is beautiful and the features are incredible for such a basic game. The idea behind buying letters and having stronger damaging ones takes this game to a whole new level.

I do, however, think that this game is a tad too slow for fast typists. I consider myself pretty darn fast behind the keyboard and the speed that the words take to clear away once I hit enter take far too long, and hence the next word I'm typing doesn't come up fast enough, and the boiler letters don't appear quickly enough.

I'd certainly like to try something a little faster overall. With letters springing up way faster and the gameplay speed much higher as well. After all, it's a typing defense game. Typing fast should be accompanied by faster gameplay. It would be great to accommodate that level of playing into this game.

I really like the conception of the idea. It's really simple to pick up, yet has a level of complexity that sets it aside from normal word typing games.

I thoroughly enjoyed this.

Missing a lot of words

This game is fun and a great thought provoker. However there's a lot of words that just aren't in there.

Some things are as simple as the names of countries. Others I can't really remember, after putting in a word and having it not work, i tend to forget those words so I don't keep trying them.

That, and trying to force us to make an account and buy stupid crap to be more effective at this game is a little annoying.

seriously?

I liked the game, but it was way off balance. It is virtually impossible to progress past level 9 without going shopping or replaying the lower levels to get letters for the boiler.

But what really made me never come back to this game is the bug (?) that changed all my letters in the boiler to 'A's when I loaded the game again! Thanks, but no thanks.

Entertaining, but odd words

This kept me playing for a good hour, but I was constantly frustrated with seemingly simple words not getting accepted. "June" is not accepted nor is "Jewish", but "Jew" is? I understand you can't have every word in the dictionary, but those aren't really odd words (unlike the guy below me who apparently things the longest words in the language should be obvious choices to add into a word game.)

I don't really like that you have to buy letters and this requires out-of-game stuff. No thanks. But this really limits the game, and honestly, the number of times I'm willing to come back.

It'd be wonderful if there were an "erase all" button. There were several times I was typing so quickly that letters would be left over from a previous word. Holding down or rapidly pushing "backspace" slowed down the game play and caused level losses too often.
