Reviews for "Madness 3D Combat"

i found a glitch

i found a glitch at the start i pressed the play button and the game dissapeard

HonterGames responds:

This is not the games fault, as there is no code which could possibly cause this. Perhaps it may be Newgrounds, perhaps your computer. To solve try playing in popup mode.

cool

it was pretty good a little repetitive but good

Good

This is actually decent, and I know it's made to look 3d and stuff which must've taken alot of effort, I still think it's extremely un sofisticated (Like some of the people who made most of the comments below me.) and just needs to be alot more in depth. But it has alot of potential, and I bet next year if you made another one, it would be alot better. But seriously don't mind most of the recent comments that have been made. I don't know if you don't or do already know this but (and I'm not insulting Newgrounds as a whole.) over 75% of the NG population, are literally either retarded, or are 13 year olds who don't know how to tell the difference between when they look like complete retards, or when they are actually looked upon-by the things they say-aren't that narcissistically meaningless and dare I say "corny"-cool. Sorry you for making you have the misspleasure of reading half a review (if you read it) that has nothing to do with your game...especially if you are still reading this...bleh...poo...okay seriously, stop. You're creeping me out.

HonterGames responds:

Haha the last bit made me laugh. Yeah i will be making another one next year and make it much more 'sophisticated' hahaha.

Interesting direction

I think you're getting a lot of negative feedback because this doesn't fit the standard madness formula. Your game isn't terrible -- my eyes aren't bleeding or anything -- but it's not that great, either. I thought it was cool that you went into 3-D, but you probably should have borrowed a little more from the better early FPS games like Doom.

Dropping a bunch of randomly spawning enemies into a square map while limiting the player's movement to forward/backward and turning doesn't make for a very fun game. I didn't run into any powerups, and the inclusion of Jesus mobs in the mix from the get go was probably a bad choice. In madness games and videos, there's always a progression between rooms. This felt like the survival mode of a better game.

Because the controls were so limited and there was no minimap, I ran into a lot of mobs while running backwards (or just by using the gun -- it'd be nice if you let players know that firing would send you flying backwards). There were so many mobs that it was impossible to remember where they all were, so luck played as much or more of a role in survival as skill did -- not a good thing in my book. I think your game could have been better if you ditched the random spawns and actually designed a few levels with mobs already in them instead. Also, a melee button would have been helpful, as would the addition of even a fraction of the myriad guns madness games are known for. Also, ditch the knockback effect from firing -- it's not like the guy's carrying a medieval cannon around.

I think you took a risk in making something a little different, and give you credit for it. However, I don't think the game really works in its present form. Consider taking the engine you've built and applying it to something more playable.

HonterGames responds:

This was very helpful. i just want to say that Time really prevented me from making the perfect game. Next year ill definitely add much of the ideas you have stated.

Its ok

You may not have put too much effort into it but the 3D effect works
