Reviews for "Exmortis 3"

EPIC!!!!!!

Tottaly awsome game. All my 5's! big props to ya. But srry I rated u 0's instead with 0 stars. My reason for doing so is this, I applaud you for going the extra mile and making a buck for yourself but seriously? I mean Newgrounds is supposed to be everything by everyone, not everyone by who can afford it. I'll probably lose my account for this but why would you use a sight to build up such a reputation with the Exmortis series if you were planning to charge people after they've come so far to the end? I feel let down by such a sell-out move on your part. I've played the demo and I have nothing to complain about except the fact that it explains nothing about the exmortis. You'd think by playing your demo we'd get to uncover more of the story, as to who Mr. Hanney is and why he ended up where he is. A big disappointment for me man. Doesn't mean I won't buy the game. My review does not reflect the gameplay or design at all. Only the extremely uninformative demo. If you think I'm wrong then comment back. And explain exactly why I'm wrong, because I'd really like to know. Thank You.

0/10 !

I do not consider newgrounds to be a platform to advertise games/put up demos to make people buy games. I believe newgrounds should be a platform of free, fully available content.

Thus you get a 0 in the review and a 0 in my vote.

i wish i could..

i wish icould side with you about how if you never made it comercially you never could have released it. sadly, thats not so true. you never could have released it going into the detail you did. if you would have gone with the layout of the rest of the games all the reviews would be 10s, 9s, or 8s. the reason no one really wants to buy it is the fact that they will play it once and never care about it again. i could llok up the story line online and never have to see the actual game to get closure. i will not be buying this, because i do not believe it deserves it. adding the powers and all may have been a good idea (yes, i did play the trial) but to what extent? you could blow off this review and say "do i care what one person says?" or "It's evolution, buddy. Get used to it. Sorry that your paper run doesn't cover the cost of a game. Maybe you should go throw a stick around the local park... at least that's free." but realize that i played the other two and loved them. i like the trial, but i will not buy something online without a physical copy. blow me off or whatever. but i am a big fan of yours, and by doing so you are just losing more and more of the original people who made it worth it for you to keep going on.

LefflerWebDesign responds:

Sure the game doesn't have a great deal of replay value - but hey, I can't think of a single game in the same/similar genres that do - both free and commercial.

Physical copies of the game vs Download games... ever heard of a DVD-Burner? What does it matter if something is physical or cloud based? Is it the real life "trophy" of owning a box with a CD? I don't get it. Someone please explain it to me. I take it you would never buy a game from Steam?

And yes - I stand by my comments - Exmortis 3 would never have been made without financial backing. I'm not some guy with copious amounts of time on my hand to make this stuff for free anymore. I am a professional designer working up to 12 hours a day and I have a wife and a child on the way. Do you think I have a massive amount of free time to build this stuff short of the vision that I had and to do it all for free? I'm sorry, but you are kidding yourself if you do.

Exmortis 3 as it is - or no Exmortis 3 at all... that was the choice that had to be made, and I stand by it.

I realize that my decision polarizes the community and compromises the fan base that made the series a success in the first place - but it was a necessary decision to ensure that the series was given the conclusion that it so deserved. It is the evolution that the product needed to ensure its continued life.

And buddy, I only give blow off responses to people that review Exmortis 3 with a cop-out "WTF?! YOU ARE A SELLOUT. NO PAY TO PLAY ON NG. I rate you 0. EAT A DICK AND DIE" -- Because my smart ass blow off response is what that kind of review deserves... Not to mention I am tired of giving the same justifications and explanations as to why the product evolved - especially to people that are only interested in expressing their views in an abusive manner and/or a series of indecipherable words.

At least you took more than a fleeting moment to discuss the issue with a level head and a non-abusive review... which is why I take the time to respond in kind.

Cheers,
Ben.

yeah.... won't pay

your games were good, but nowhere near good enough for me to pay for. this is disappointing to say the least.

LefflerWebDesign responds:

Matter of opinion I guess... and as a consumer, you are entitled to one. But scoring it a zero? Really? The result is in... "opinion ignored".
