~ Animation/Graphics ~

Pretty good. Nothing amazing, but still not bad all around. I think the graphics are pretty good right where they are and there isn't much room for improvement here.

~ Story/Content ~

I love these types of games, but for some reason I sucked at this game. Perhaps make it so there are difficulties for people to choose at. I mean I sucked at it and didn't have a chance to make it very far no matter how much I played so I couldn't see much of the game.

Another thing that you could think about would be adding a battle animation of the certain character attacking the others in a movie clip. Then you could have people choose whether to turn that off or keep it. You could create a couple random ones for each character so you could have some variety in there.

~ Audio ~

I personally thought the audio was very fitting for the submission and that the sound effects were well done.

~ Overall ~

A good game. I just sucked at it so I couldn't get to see the entire thing. I'm not saying make it easier because games should be hard, but perhaps a choice of making it easier or harder.

Good

I played this for about 10 minutes, and I didn't regret it. But, it's not very original, and sometimes I got a bit confused about building and things. I'm missing something going on :)

Very Addicting

Usually not a fan of this style of gameplay, but this game is the exception. I thought that you did a great job... and I can't wait to see what you create next.

Quite fun!

This is the first flash game of this type on Newgrounds, and it's not half bad!

The graphics of some things in the game were awesome, like the artwork of the sword at the menu, the units, etc, were very well done, but the main background and the simple hexagons need working on. Instead of a simple background you have, you should do a background of a battlefield, or something that relates to battle anyway. As for the texture of the hexagons, you should make the user choose an icon, and a land that is conquered turns into that icon.

As for the animation, there was little of it. As the other reviewers said, some battle animation would do wonders. Some walking animation when a unit moves from one land to another and animation of a building being built could be good too.

The concept isn't amazingly original, but I haven't seen any games like this on Newgrounds. The gameplay is OK, but it was hard to grasp the feel of the game, and I ended up with my castles turning into my enemies' castle, my units all destroyed and me not knowing what to do next. You should provide a more helpful tutorial that you can click on in the menu, where it shows you how to play step by step, instead of giving you boxes of instructions and expecting you to click something. On the bright side, there was more variety of buildings and units than I expected, so good job over there.

The audio is perfect for the game, and the sound effects were fantastic. Nothing wrong over here :D.

Overall, a good game, with a few problems here and there. Keep it up.

Good, but needs some better graphics

This is a pretty nice game, reminds me of some older games on the NES that make use of a similar layout.

So, the concept isn't too original, but the realisation of this concept is done very well. What this game needs are some more animations than just tweening the unit from one hexagon to another. If the unit would show a little walking animation it would look a lot better.

Also some battle animations would be very nice. And a little overview of what exactly happened in the battle. Right now we only have some numbers but they don't show exactly why I have won or lost.

Also some backgrounds would be nice to have. Some plains and bushes and trees. You could then also implement this into the battle and movements of the units. I'm thinking of civilization here of course, where the terrain affects the battle strength of a unit.
