quited on wave 235

Good

The only thing that I didn't like was that I when I grew tired of the bland music and SFX i had to quit the game to the menu, then had to start all over again.

But besides that, good game. A little on the easy side, yes. But its all solid. Works well. I just think its too solid. Glaciers move more envelops

Very fun game, but bugged?

i got to level 54 or so, was promoted to major, and after i bought the heavy assault cannon and an upgrade point for getting major, the game said game over?

the score had been floating between 5 and minus 3 for a while now... i figured it was a minor bug... but when it says you've died for no reason?

anyway, i would have given 10, but because of the bug i can only give 8

nonetheless, well done

Exactly what it says on the tin!

Final Score: 594660

This game is exactly what it is: an overhead tank shooter, done in the style of waves. That's what it is, and it does it well! It's simple, straight to the point and easy enough to pick up very quickly. Also the pause/upgrade menu is a great way of immersing the player in the game without any awkward menu screens.

However that is were the praise ends. The game's simple controls are fine, but the game's simplicity is not. Things are challenging to begin with because you're new and have the worst equipment, but it doesn't take too long for you to get some upgrades. And when you do, suddenly they're everywhere and you'll be skipping two or more weapons in the list to get the new best one every time you pause. Not only that, but enemies seem to get harder much slower than you can upgrade, making them lose almost all threat the longer you play. Things only really heat up by wave 200, but most players will have got bored long before then - the difficulty curve is just too lax.

My suggestions to the creator would be:
*Increase the difficulty curve. This could be done simply by giving all enemy units a 1-2% damage-buff per wave after level 100, or something. This will at least double their damage by Lv.200 and make those final 50 very challenging.
*Make the HP/EXP box slightly transparent because enemies can spawn or move there, and if they're the slow-heavy firing type they can be completely hidden and not come out. Same could apply to the player's tank, although I didn't try.
*Reduce the drop rate of new items. Maybe I'm confused, and the items come with the ranks, but all I know is that I looked once and only had a machine gun, looked again twenty or so levels later and had at least 15 or so new things.
*Keep on giving the player new ranks. I think I became General around 200, possibly earlier, and I kept on expecting to get something else but it never came. More stat points would help if you raised the difficulty, but I think people would like more ranks even if they had no purpose.
*Wave bug: The wave counter on the HP/EXP box doesn't recognise when you reach the 100's, and sticks to the first two numbers, eg: 98, 99, 10 (nine times) 11 (nine times) etc.
*Score bug: The score seemed completely random to me. It began at 60 and stayed there, at some points it would slowly go down like a timer and didn't stop if the wave was finished, reaching 0 and sometimes into minus numbers. Personally I had it down to -3 at one point, and nothing seemed to change it. This either needs explaining or overhauling, because even if the final score is legitimate, a player needs to be encouraged during the game.

Otherwise I think the game is very good. It has a lot of potential that I think you need to work on, but overall I enjoyed it. Good job!

ok, but...

this was a good game but you stop leveling up WAY too early and you should have more parts to use. the first 40 levels are fun but as you make your way past lvl 40 the lack of parts becomes annoying and the gameplay gets repeditive. it needs a boss level every 25 stages or so and the glitches are annoying.

You need to add more to the game for the sequel, like more parts and drone guns or aircraft that help for like 30 sec and then recharge. the lvl system needs to keep going as long as you play, to name a few...

overall it is a good game if you stop before lvl 50

(i made it to 300435 points before quiting)
