Reviews for "Galaxy Fighter"

Above blamable...

But well below applause worthy in the way of games.

Something is missing that turns the "objective" into an actual story. There is nothing here besides your word that the evil empire is evil. By the end I was hankering for some story based enemy. A warehouse of goods stolen from the homes of exiles and we need to collect the property. A bunker of missiles to be launched at civilian rebel camps. Maybe, and this is a shocker, some sort of boss.

Your method for inferring a third dimension is interesting but it is nothing more than a tiered two dimensional game with the ability for the units to shoot between tiers. This has proven to be somewhat clumsy and annoying in previous games and is not much improved here.

The game was overall rather anti-climactic, and seemed to be a victory by attrition rather than any real resolution.

Pros:
-Love the way you get enemies into the fight.
-The music was OK for the first level.
-Decent graphics and awesome artwork.

Cons:
-No real conclusion.
-Each level needed its own music and something less repetitive therein.
-Neither 3-d nor 2-d = bastard child game play.
-Graphics fail to compensating for poor game design.
-Ammo and health is something you should allow the player to pick up by walking over them.

Can't see myself playing this for a long time.

This game really doesn't hold my attention for too long. The graphics are kinda cool and remind me of an old school side scrolling beat-em up. However, that's where the similarities stop. The game just doesn't seem like it flows well, and there really isn't a storyline other than "shoot stuff until it you advance levels," is there? Also, I think your character can take a ridiculous amount of damage before dying. Fix the damage, shooting, and maybe add a lil story other than "Fight with your mecha machine in a cold war against the evil empire!," (AKA pew pew, keep pewing, okay level done), and you've got a pretty cool game.

Come on, it's not that bad...

...but needs some serious fixes.

- Apparently, there is some kind of storyline... I don't know, I just skipped it. You don't need any storyline for a game like this. Believe me.
- Saber is totally useless.
- You can't tell what items do you get... they look all the same. I didn't even know when i picked up a health boost - at first i thought there is some glitch in the game and when i die, I don't lose a life.
- When you get better weapon, it should be automaticly switched.
- Sound effects are too similiar to each other and boring.
- Obstacles, like crates or something, would be useful.
- Weapons range is too short.
- No boss fight.

At least the lenght of the game was perfect - only 4 levels. It would get boring if it was any longer.

Regards.

What the hell?

This game is so stupid and boaring. The characters look realy gay.

Good Start

I really liked the visuals, but unfortunately, that's about the only thing that kept this game from being an utter failure. I also liked the designs behind the mechs. The controls were bad, it was nearly impossible to dodge. Fix the controls and add a storyline and it'll be great!
