Reviews for "Youda Legend Amsterdam"

It was alright but..

It was too expensive for a game like this.

Pay2Play? On Newgrounds?

You shouldn't need to pay for this.

Not bad.

Not too easy, not too hard. Looked really nice. I liked the compass, helped me out a lot on the times where I couldn't find that one final item. The mouse randomly circling around got on my nerves.

My only issue is, I wouldn't pay for a game like this. It's fun for a while, but not the kind of game I would return to playing. Beat it once, be done with it for good. Not something I would buy.

Enjoyable

I thought this game was pretty relaxing. Overall. pretty nice.

I really liked the diamond idea - it was nice to be able to immediately spot something and click it without having to check the list first. The compass was a great idea as well. Whenever I play these types of games, I usually have no problem finding 80% of the items, but the rest are just impossible to find and I give up. Adding the compass was a nice way to overcome this, especially when trying to find the really hard items. The peanut under the bridge is one I would never have found. The music was a really good choice, setting a nice mood to the game. The artwork was fantastic, and the storyline seemed fairly intriguing. The grammar and spelling, a big pet peeve of mine, was practically flawless. I found one part that could have been worded a better way, but it wasn't a big deal.

A few things to consider:
The whole mouse circling bit was really annoying, until I understood it only happened when I clicked more than 3 times in rapid succession. Until I made that discovery, I was getting extremely frustrated. I understand why you probably created that feature, which is to prevent people from randomly clicking the screen and to instead actually look for the items. I think that's a fine idea, but you should make it a point to warn the player about this rule at the very start of the game. Otherwise, as someone else pointed out, players think they're just randomly given hints about where items are due to the circling motion, even though they're not. The misconception of incorrect hints and an unexplained loss of mouse control can lead to anger, lower ratings, and fewer buyers of the real version.

Other than that, the game was great. Although I don't think I'd personally buy this game for myself, if I had a kid, I would probably purchase this

pretty good game

but seriously PAY for the game. who does that?
