Reviews for "The Space Shooter DEMO"

Ehhh.

Not bad, but it was the same thing over and over.

Also the most annoying thing is that you can only do one thing, move up/down or move left/right or shoot. THIS MUST CHANGE.

Also add some sort of power ups and health/shield gauge.

Oh how cliched!

OK, It's hard to find good things bout this game. It's so very....done before!

Sure, your ship looks a lot like a Star Destroyer.
And it can move horizontally and vertically (albeit, not at the same time) to avoid the exact same looking size rock, or bigger rocks which look exactly the same and have a bit more health. Then you get ships, then ones that shoot back. Then a boss.
It's all been done before! Sure, nothing is wrong with your game, but there's nothing new about it either!
No notification of damage and your ship was a box, so you took damage without something even touching you. Getting to the portal at the end wasn't hard. I hugged the bottom left corner shooting everything (quite hard considering the speeds of your ship(s lazers) and the rocks and then you get whisked away to next level, no introduction, nothing. Also, I'm sure (as someone below mentioned) that some of that music is copyrighted and protected by Nintendo. Credit them much?

And so, final conclusion on that based above, there is too much that went bad in this game (in fact, a demo, I hate demos. Bore me to hell...give me the full thing or don't give it at all, I don't care!) and not enough things made up for it. Not even the great amount of time that went into drawing those hulking space rocks :)

eh, could have been better

i couldnt beat the boss cause he fires to fast and you move to slow. and i would like to move ANd shoot at the same time. and fire more than 2 parallel lasers until the one laser goes away. just try to make it a little better next time.

Mediocre and Generic Space Shooter

The game is your basic side-scroll shoot-or-avoid space game, with very little to add to the table, let alone something new. There were space rocks, space rocks that were twice as strong, ships, ships that fired back at you, and their varieties.

Your ship could move back and forth, up and down, but never at the same time, nor was there ever a good reason not to hug the left screen. Your ship was defined as a square, so an object could hit you without it visibly touching it. At the end of the level, you reached a portal that whipped you to the next level without any sort of introduction, announcement, or even sound.

There weren't powerups, bosses, a notification of damage, story (because a few sentences in the comments doesn't qualify), or anything to make this game unique or interesting in any way. This game felt like a test for ActionScript, not a demo.

There wasn't really that much wrong with the game, just nothing good about it. It's good to see some initiative though, so hopefully we can see a much more complete demo in the future.

...Good job stealing copyrighted music

And without even crediting Nintendo for the tracks you've stolen. :(
Gameplay wise, kinda crappy. Your ship is way too big, the enemy variety is almost nonexistant...
The two bosses are total failures. All you have to do for the first is stay at the top and shoot. You can't get hit. For second, you just have to ram the top screen while shooting and the boss will also ram the screen but not shoot...
No sound effects, either.
