Reviews for "A Typical Wednesday"

Well

Well i was gonna say you should try doing a directional shooter, but i just read your comment saying that you were tryin out a new thing. Sorry dude, due to the sporadic nature of the enemies in this game it would have been a lot better as a directional shooter.

It's blurry.

The concept is the everyday classic arcade.
I like that.

But the fact that the screen is getting overpopulated in to short time.
I dont like that.

If you're aiming to make a sequel, which i advice you to do, try to not have so many enemies in so fast. Let it take some time to get into the real battle.
I enjoy playing arcade games, but this i too blurry.

Potential, but rushed and too much like frantic

This game has some good potential; however, as someone said before, it is almost exactly like frantic except not as complex. You did not spend enough time devoloping this, and the graphics seem very rushed... If you would have spent more time on the game and made the gameplay unique, this would be an ok game. You can spread out the game by adding weapons, a store, some type of progress instead of just constantly shotting and leveling up, more complex game play like scenarios or missions or some bullshit like that, and the explosion graphics messed with the game play... when you destroy and enemy ship, shit flies all over the place; while this is cool, you can sometimes lose sight of your fighter, and people hate it when that happens. Like I said, you have to add much more to it; if this was a first attempt, it wasn't bad, but it need some work. Nice effort though. However, this is kind of a rip off of frantic

Average game

Could have been much better.
One problem is that when you die the enemies bullets doesnt reset, so you restart with no upgraded weapon and a screen full of enemy bullets.

Meh

It was OK and I usually love shooters, but I had a few problems with this game:

* Quite quickly it turned into an avoiding game and nothing more.
* Once you die once in an advanced level, you have no chance of getting back in the game and you will die almost immediately (since you go back to weapon lvl. 1 and the enemies stay as strong as they were).
* There is just too much on the screen at once to see, be it enemies, enemy fragments, enemy traces, multipliers or shots. That is just too much to see and all I ended up doing was phase out everything but the shots - meaning I died almost all the time from enemies hitting me. The guided missiles were also much more horrible to find that way.
* A little more down the line, there's absolutely no part of the screen that's not covered with an enemy or its shots, forcing you to use the special. Unfortunately, the specials are extremely limited in numbers and don't regenerate as fast as you need them.
* The fact that enemies usually come from the top of the screen in games lets you stick to a side of the screen or the bottom and think more about whether your shots actually hit something, rather than where you are. Here, this was not possible, as enemies came from all directions. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the game already being very hard right off the bat to begin with.

Still, you get a 6 for the effort. eh. HTH.
