Reviews for "A Typical Wednesday"

A bit too easy.

I am possibly one of the worst people in the world at playing games
but the amount of time I just mashed the the X button was getting ridiculous.
It was really easy, but at the same time, its equally as easy to die from paying no attention to whats going on.
I think you should put a recharge button in or something to stop people from just mashing the keys.
Its quite good though :)

Hard to tell what's going on

All the broken bits of enemies start cluttering up the screen, making it difficult to see what's going on. The circle enemies that fire rings of death...yeah, that is freaking cheesy. You get pinned down and can't kill them, so 3-4 load up the screen with black death and it's game over no matter how many lives you have.

Some folks will congratulate you on making a very hard game, but this game will alienate quite a few folks, too. You've basically made a game for the top 10% of hard-core shooters fans out there, which means it's a huge ass-beating and self-esteem buster for the other 90% of us out here. The game still deserves a good score for technical & art merit.

Actually as a shooter it fails on some basics

1. Oh my freaking God the spamming enemies. Stop it, you can't even get on the board after a death. The screen is literally black.

2. A limited number of specials. In a game where your special move (Which was unique by the way and neat) is so crucial it should have a recharge after X amount of kills.

3. Because of point one three lives is stupid. If I can't get back on the board and get my guns back up it's game over at death one. Take them away or kill all the enemies on screen and let me get back on the field.

4. Music variation. One track over and over is really dumb especially for such a basic game.

alillm-com responds:

Thanks for the feedback.

1. What can I say, it's a hardcore game, that's how it's supposed to be, if you can't keep up the pace, you die.

2. You actually get a special back each time your gun reaches max. The specials are for getting you out of tight situations, they aren't meant to be relied on for success.

3. If you die and things are pretty hectic, use a special (this is what they are for) and you will quickly charge up to level 3 by which point you should be able to survive if you're any good. It's possible to do it without using a special but if you find it hard that's the best option.

4. Not sure I see your reasoning here, because it's a basic game it should have more music? Surely being a game that's over in less than 10 minutes, a 3 minute track should be fine? I would have been more inclined to include additional tracks if it was a longer game.

Anyway, Thanks a lot for constructive feedback, most of you're points are just conflicts with the way I make games but I take every view into account :).

Trippy Stuff

It was amazing I just couldn't keep up, didn't get very far but still loved it!

Excellent!

This was hectic, but in an awesome way! Though I occasionally felt overwhelmed, I was enjoying myself so much that I didn't really care.

Very Nice, 10/10; 5/5
