Reviews for "Hitler hacks LINUX (5:33)"

Excellent.

A chaotic, disorganized, piece of ominious ambience mixed with variable beats, giving it a very chase/dark feeling, which is very admirable.

I can tell you utilized that organ type sounds quite well, and having the song dance around those notes definitely gave it it's theme.

It's definitely very bass heavy, some of the sounds are very overpowering, I noticed you used several different sounds to concoct it, and you let them go all out, which sort of made it muddy. It drags out for a while, sound wise it's good, lengthwise, some people might get sick of it. I think all you need is some more chunky beats, pacing, and perhaps program them a little more intricately.

Beyond that, I'd really like to remix this, that is, if you're willing to hand over the samples, I think it'd be good hands. My e-mail is Erkieman@gmail.com. So feel free to unload anything there.

Nice job.

WinTang responds:

Thanks a lot!

I didn't understand the lines "I noticed...it muddy", but I will e-mail you soon. I'm pleased, honored even, that you would want to spend time on improving this. I only recently discovered the importance of mixing, so I have no clue whatsoever as to what I'm doing.

The whole thing is made in Impulse Tracker though, I don't know if you're familiar with it and it's way different than all other programs I've come across (which in turn makes me not understand any other program).

For the record: you ARE the guy I know as Erkie, right?

muy bien

I wish you hadn't added the German-speech samples, as they seem to add an air of novelty to the track... and not the good kind of novelty... Other than that, this is a superb extension of the preview, and you even added an additional segment of that organ melody I liked so much! The new, quieter section was a nice change of pace, while not being too much out of place, and the speed-up afterwards was great, though I wish it would've gotten just a tad faster and ended in a screaming mountain of awesome, instead of just a loudly-speaking pile of awesome. Still, a very good piece of track. Still 5/5.

WinTang responds:

Thanks dude, I was looking forward to this :)

I hear ya on the speech samples, though I like them very much myself, especially in the interlude. I like to be able to put this on a CD and then credit the vocals to Helmut Kohl. Heh. But I can see how it may seem a bit pretentious and can be interpreted as some kind of moral message, which is far from what I meant - I just wanted it to add a little hint of human intervening with the chaos.

A further speed increase is a cool idea though. I'll experiment with that and see if I like it.

I liked your awesome-metaphors a lot, btw. However, the only way I see making it "scream" more without totally fucking up the clarity, is adding more voices there... but if you have a better idea, please e-mail me.

Thanks a lot for your useful comments again, and for the 5/5 (although I think you forgot to click the 5 because my score has been exactly the same for a few days now...)!

Lacks nothing in scope.

Lacks commercialness, but that matters little.

Its good, an epic piece, i'd say this is more techno than dnb, its lacking the rumble that i look for in good dnb, but regardless its a great piece of music

Its good to see someone who can think in original time signatures too.

I think this piece would stand out best if made on a 4/5.1 sound system, but i havent got one of those :S It sounds a bit, unclear in places.

You must be an aphex fan, surely.

WinTang responds:

Thanks for the review :)
Mmm, I see the Aphex Twin reference, I never listen to it though - hope it doesn't sound like a rip-off...
And yeah, commercialness is not often first in my priority list. This is my most downloaded song, so that may be saying something. Or not.
Anyway, thanks for giving me my first 7th review. I'm off to see what you made!

Coincidence?

Wow man. I'm simply amazed. I've heard nothing like this on Newgrounds so far. Its a crazy type of glitche song. Reminds me of soemthing I would only strive to make (does that even make sense?). Brilliant, complex melodies and that fucking part that speeds up (i forget the musical term so its hard to sound smart saying that) was just badass.

You know whats really crazy though, you posted this on the 7th anniversary of the columbine massacre, 7 which is half as many reviews that this song now has, and also the date and month of my own birth which is 7-7-87 meaning I will be 20 on 7-7-07. And 20 which is the day you posted, which makes 4 more reasons why its crazy, 4-20 once again. Coincidence?

lol but seriously you did that on accident? you're one of them nazi freaks aren't you?

good work though 5/5 -chutzpah

WinTang responds:

This song will be the death of both of us!

Thank you, thank you for your review though, a real pleasure to read hehe.
The word you were looking for is 'accelerando'

ps Why'd I get a NINE overall when all other scores are FULL?!
