Reviews for "Mecha Martyr"

Entertaining.

At first I thought that this game was going to end up boring me and I would quit a few minutes into starting it, but I was delighted to be proven wrong. I think it was the slow start to the game which made me feel like it was boring, but it quickly picked up with the introduction of new enemies and the numerous modifications you made available for your mech.

Another thing which grabbed my interest was the change in music as soon as you got a bit farther into the game (I think around where the vehicles show up) which introduced not so much a change of pace, but it certainly felt like one with the quicker and more upbeat tunes.

Some things you could work on, however, are probably the locations. People might enjoy this a bit more if it was side scrolling/backgrounds changed with each level. It would give some people that sense of moving that some people find necessary to make a game enjoyable for them and feel like it isn't very repetitive. Other than that you did a great job, congrats.

Tons 'O' Fun!

Love the upgrade system, lots of points awarded to trick out your mech and thrash some tanks 'n' dudes and planes, ans all kinds of other vehicles. Nice graphics, runs smooth as silk;however the music gets a little grating, and I wish you could use the directional arrows instead of "w,a,s,d",other than that easily made favorites.

Anyone else have this happen?

First of all, AWESOME music.

After level 10 I thought it'd be best to stay in the corner and protect myself from there. Well, that strategy REALLY worked.... because no more enemies came!

Must have been some kind of glitch but I haven't budged for 6 levels and nothing's come yet. I'm going to see if there's an end to this!

This is great material to come up with a very successful sequel. I think you should have different modes... A story mode with continuations every few levels or so, a 1-life mode... and maybe something else. Adding special attacks to the "Q" and "E" key would be really cool. And... bosses! Big bosses would be awesome.

Wasn't apparent for a while how to upgrade health and grenades, but that was probably just me. o_o

Its a reely good game...

just needs to be alot easyier. i ended up speending all my points on life and not upgrades. then i died, but over all a good game.

Short

I thought this game was amazing, but I felt like it was too short.
My ship was fully upgraded in just a few minutes, and shortly after I just got mobbed by aerial forces and died.
For me, the main problem with the game is that it goes by too fast overall, with the level difference and upgrading.
One last thing: healing was way too inexpensive

Btw to the person under me, I didnt actually try what you did but I dont think you can increase your exp without killing enemies. That means by waiting you will get no exp for when you need it in later levels.
