Reviews for "The Big Green Button"

The Big Green Review

Funny game, although it was basically just pressing the same thing over and over again. The graphics were, well, black, green and white for the most part. The sound was pretty much non-existant for most of the Flash. Also, isn't this more of a game than a movie?

5/10

Well, I WAS considering it being a game, but then I realised that games have to require SOME thinking and working out, in this, all you have to do is push a big green button. :P

Thanks for the review and the helpful info. I'll try to add more sound next time.

Am I dating this button? If not, I don't see how this is a dating sim. The game is very amusing, but I'm taking off stars for being grossly miscategorized.

Not original at all..

Art/Animation: 4/10
You pretty much had to draw one symbol, so you could at least have put a tiny bit more effort into it. Maybe a bit more variation on the shading and the light patches.

It would also have been nice if you had added a few bits with animation, like the button bouncing all over the place and you had to click it.

Plot/Concept: 2/10
This has been done so many times before it barely even passes as a concept anymore. You didn't really do anything original here. The most original thing I saw was the changing of the colours. I vaguely smiled at some bits as well, but many of the jokes were already done by previous submissions..

Music: 7/10
You didn't use that much music, but that wasn't really needed considering the flash. I liked how you used the music when it was changing colour, that brought a bit of freshness to it. The music at the "surprise" was pretty anoying, but it didn't last for long so it was ok...

Overall: 4/10
Not original enough to be worth the time..

Do you know how sad this makes me?!

I just clicked all the way through that for the epilepsy flasher page at the end? Wow, that's anticlimactic.

Anyway, there's a decent plot, which takes some writing to get a half decent result from the monologue. It's progressed quite well through, as claimed 600-700 frames, though it doesn't seem that long, to be honest. I think that there are other things you could have done to the button, for sure, but it does seem to work quite well as you sorted it.

Different buttons could have come along into the picture and thrown insults at the green button, thus displaying how hurt his feelings can really get - this was the sort of thing that I was expecting to be honest, but that's the way you wanted to play it and it is your movie, after all.

Greenfrost6 responds:

Well, not everyone can like it. However I do realise that this has been done before.
