Reviews for "Griswold the Goblin 2 CH1"

Good..

...but I didn't get it. Maybe I just missed something I don't know. But I didn't seem to get pass the flower thingy at the beginning. I know there is a walkthrough but a game should not be intended to play with a walkthrough, then there is either something wrong with the player (probably is, seeing other did get it) or something wrong with the game puzzle logic.

Anyways nice game ;)

Agh. Must be you lol There is still quite a bit of game play before you can get pass the Fly Trap. I'd encourage you to give it another go. :)

Great, but....

I think you have to rethink the minigames. Most people I think see PnC adventure games as a challenge to the mind, not to the fingers. Allthough many of us like speedgames, shooters etc. as well, I think you shouldn't mix them up.

If I play a PnC, I don't mind wandering around for a long time trying to figure out what to do. I do mind however having to chop trees or catch bugs, if the fact that I cannot hit my keyboard fast enough prevents me from continuing the game. If I want to play a game like that, I'll find one (and probably not get a top of the leaderboard score :)), but with a PnC I want to be ableto think my way out of it.
Adding a minigame is not necessarily bad by itself, but you should be able to finish it in your own good (or rather bad...) time. The bug game, for instance, could have been OK if there was no time limit to get them all three. In that case, it would have been a matter of figuring out when to click for each bug; after a while you would be able to solve even if you are not very quick.

Other than that, very nice game. Love the graphics and the in-game comments, and was glad to see that it was no longer necessary to use the arrow keys for walking!

Phantasmagor responds:

You make a good point. Though you do have all the time in the world to solve the bug catching game. If you mess up and some bugs start escaping just wait until all the bugs escape and try again otherwise you will never catch all the bugs in time.
It does take a bit of logical reasoning to work out the best way to catch the bugs. I do agree that maybe the puzzles should all be geared towards thinking rather than reaction speed but we also considered that having a game like the bug game would offer some variety to the game play. It's not overly difficult to win the bug game if you are patient.

Fair enough

I liked it, but the first one had a better feeling to it...anyway, the next chapter will still be good, I'm sure :P

And to everyone complaining about the drink disappearing when you've drunk it: I'ts Not A Problem! It isn't supposed to give you superhuman strength and rip the plants to pieces, it's just supposed to help you lift the axe, you have to find the axe first!

Phantasmagor responds:

This game was more about kicking off the new series. The next game will have a fair bit more adventure with new and exciting environments, puzzles and characters. Thanks for playing

Fantastic game

However, there are some bugs. My jar of bugs just dissapeared out of my inventory.
